Error code BCM62285h

Pretty sure that '6' in 62285 is actually a 'b' - for body control module, BCM.

So the DTC is b2285. Not at all sure about the 'h'. In any case I can't find any 'b' DTCs higher numbered than 2274 so perhaps 2285 is for some component new to the 2019 models.

If your dealer has a 2019 Electrical Diagnostics manual the DTC should be listed there.

I have a complete 2017 service manual & it does not list code B2285. It does not go that high. The highest "B" code for the 2017's is 2274. I agree with ultrafxr.

That leads me to speculate that that code has something to do with the bigger 114 cu. in. engine, the new brakes or the new traction control feature.

Whatever it is, it's covered & I would contact your dealer.

I think you are right. The 6 was most likely a b. Guess I'll check with the dealer. I have cleared it a couple of times. Runs great, no problems that I can tell with brakes or steering. Can't find any 19 manuals yet. Thanks guys for your input.

Very interesting,Harley must be sitting on a batch of newer codes for 18-19 models HMMMMMMMM I guess with new features there will be a few more pages in the electrical section of the manuals

I'm not sure the 18's had any big changes, but the 2019's defiantly did.

I contacted Service Manual Warehouse to get info on the 2019 service manuals to post for everyone & they did not have a date for the release of the 2019 trike supplement due to all the updates/changes.

I'm not sure the 18's had any big changes, but the 2019's defiantly did.

I contacted Service Manual Warehouse to get info on the 2019 service manuals to post for everyone & they did not have a date for the release of the 2019 trike supplement due to all the updates/changes.

Bet we will be seeing a few more B codes with the traction control and more on the 19 models

Seems the BCM does the electrical circuit testing and reports to the ECM plus stores codes? Welcome to the future

Error code

Finally got an answer as to what error code b2285 is. Low battery voltage. something as simple as that. I guess will have to keep the battery tender on it at night. The nights are getting a little cool down here in North Carolina and with the continuous draw it drops just enough to trip the sensor.

Dale, You might want to check the battery connections , Or the battery its self while its still under warranty [Load test].....Unless the trike has been sitting for a week or more without being charged....?...

The tender is a good idea

I keep mine on a tender, I hate replacing batteries

If my FW is parked for a day or 2, I don't, but longer than 2 days & the tender goes on it. As it's turning to 20 degree lows here in STL, I may revisit my battery maintenance as we may be in for a rough winter. We have been very lucky the past few years.:clapping:

I know some folks ride daily or several time per week. Not so for me. It is for fun pure and simple so the bike may sit for several days or longer between rides. First thing I do after bike cools a bit is plug in the battery tender.

I can attest to the effectiveness of a battery tender when I began using one on my riding lawn tractor a few years back. Before using a tender on it each spring I'd have to buy a new battery for it. On this current battery I bought a tender an began using it immediately. I'm on the third season now with this battery so I know the tender does indeed help extend the life of batteries.

When I lived in NY I used my battery tender all the time (after September). Not so when I moved to NC in Sept of 17. For the last 10-12 years every HD I've owned has had a Tender on it from Day One. Ride it - Cool it - Plug it in. I'm four years on this battery and most likely will change the battery this year....but it's working fine...I'm just the guy who thinks 4 years on a HD Battery is good enough...lol

The reason I mentioned Service Manual Warehouse is I have a 2017 Freewheeler and I got a service manual, trike supplement & electrical manual for around $17. It's in PDF format & is fantastic.
