Electrical accessory plug issue

I have a 2012 TRI-Glide that I installed the factory splitter attachment on in the accessory plug under the seat. I am running a wiring harness under the tank to a terminal that has 3 cigarette lighter plugs and 2 USB ports. When I started using this I had no issues. I have an XM receiver plugged in with a cigarette plug adapter. The other day I went riding and when I hit the brakes, either hand or foot, the XM receiver dropped off line. I got back home and looked at the power LED on the terminal and everytime I hit the brakes the power light went out. When I move the plug to the faring cigarette outlet, everything is fine. ANY IDEAS. The accessory outlet is rated for 15 amps and im not even pulling 1 with the radio

Is your rear brake light also out? I suspect it is. There is a wire hooked to the rear brake sensor that sometimes can be too close to the pipes and can short out. It would only short when the rear brake is depressed.

I would suspect a fuse blown if you were going to ground.

If you have a volt meter put it in the splitter and see what you get on each plug and then hit the brakes each time.

It should stay at 12 VDC. Is your Accersory switch on..I am guessing the newer bikes still have this option?
