Did I get promoted?

Nana, As one of the unwashed and uneducated, a little information please. I notice that under my user name when I post, it lists "Tour Leader". Yours is "admistrator", John is "Iron Butt" and many just "rider".

My question is what does this mean, and exactly how did a born follower like me get to be a "tour leader"? Should I be receiving a monthly or weekly check for the use of my leadership qualities? Are there some duties I should be performing?

Just noticed this yesterday, and was awake most of last night wondering if, in some way, I was failing to fulfill my obligations to the general membership.

I would appreciate a little education on this.

Actually, you did get promoted . The more you participate in the forum -- posting, sharing, etc. -- the more you get "promoted". You'll find your status changes as your number of posts increases. No..... there are no raises or salaries involved..... sorry! But the status shows our appreciation for your regular participation and support of our forum family.

Hey, that sounds good! But I'm sure most members would think I should have started out as "fathead" or "blabbermouth" or something more appropriate. I really had no idea I had posted that many times. Perhaps I need steady work.

Well if it would make you feel better, I could post at least once a day to call you a fathead. It would be inconvenient for me, but if that is what you need, I am ready to serve. Of course, it wouldn't hurt my post count either.

Come to think of it, this may be a win-win situation there, fathead.

In addition there are the special designations of Contributing Member and Sponsor that are added individually when appropriate, and of course the administrative staff have their own rank listed (Administrator or Moderator).
