Y'all making me wonder here about a bunch of stuff. As I read the posts today.
Since I cant stand the way a GW front end rides. My MT kit has a 4.5 degree rake just saying.
Hated my Valks harsh ride that these Hondas seem to have. The 1500s have the same "similar" setup as the 1800s. Rides like rocks to me. Compared to a simple 'normal" bikes ride with dual spring front end setup.
When should, I meaning miles. Even consider having the front end rebuilt?? Or looked at??
Ill be honest other then oil changes, greasing the driveshaft, and a set of front pads. I really haven't had any real maintenance done to my trike yet.
Lets NOT count the CV joint seals I had to do when I 1st got the trike. Or the drive shaft changes.
It runs fine. If I hear a noise from the kit end. I turn the radio up louder......... Just kidding no kit issues.
A 2010 with a whopping 22K miles. All original everything. I haven't even pulled a plug on this bike yet to look at it. Just turn the key every day and go to work. I have nothing mechanically to complain about yet.
So I really have no clue as to what should be done and when??
Is there any online service schedule to follow posted anyplace?? Anything that must be done at xxxxmiles??
I know Im asking a lot here?? Maybe?? Thanks in advance guys.

Jay I don't know of any "UNOFFICIAL" maintenance schedule. You know about the Honda schedule I'm sure. Don't know of anyone that strictly adheres to it.

I change plugs and air filter around 45K, change oil & filter every 10K (AMSOIL full synthetic) , look seriously at fork rebuild every 25K, inspect and lube driveshaft per manufacturer, inspect and replace rubber and brake pads as needed.

Anytime I work on any bike; keeping an eye out for potential issues is high on the priority list. :xszpv::xszpv:

Here's your schedule: PDF or EXCEL format / http://www.touringmotorcyclists.com/tech_tips/gl_tech_tips/maintenance_schedule.html

On my wall in the garage,.......

It will be on my wall tomorrow thanks.
Nice bunch of pdf files. Already helpful.

Now at least I know where the Dragon Snot tube is,,,,,, Ive been looking for it too.
Didn't know it was a shorty under the left cover........ On the Valk it just sorta hung down underneath. Couldn't miss it.

I do the same some things you just do when it seems right.
I had an idea to have the forks rebuilt at some point but when?? That it should be around 25K I wasn't aware of.
I can say with 100% confidence. I hate Hondas front end. I think it stinks to high heaven for a premiere bike.
My Yamahas front works the way a fork should. Ride over a pebble and the forks move. This thing, just bangs over every thing. It just isn't a smooth ride on the trike. Im very disappointed its lack of movement to act as a shock should. Mine sure doesn't move much at all maybe an inch.

Replace front fork springs with progressive.

Pardon me but HELL NO. It has them and they will be the 1st thing I toss. see above............
