Cleaning front wheel spokes

My trike is a 2007 Ultra Classic with dull looking spokes. The only way I can think of cleaning them is with a sand blaster (light sand so it doesn't take off the chrome) probably wouldn't work or maybe the gritty type of soap in a power washer but you would have to be careful about getting water in the bearings. Any good suggestions out there! Huel:xzqxz:

I would not go near the wheel with a sandblaster or a power washer. I think that would cause more trouble in the long run.

I've been using a Mother's Powerball and Mother's chrome polish. Before that I used Flitz and a rag wrapped around the spoke. Also, many spokes are stainless steel and have not been chrome plated, so the actual appearance may be different from what you anticipate. Hope this helps...

Try solvent (like lacquer thinner) and see if it will cut the crud. I agree with Rick about staying away from sandblasting. That's how they cut chrome before they re-chrome.

I love spoke wheels ( old school look ) but the cleaning stinks . Mine have cadmium spokes even though they look good from a distance look close the shines not there any longer . I've had 'em on other Harley bikes and I haven't found a easy way to clean 'em ,,,so good luck and if you find a way post it please .

Hope it works for ya Rick. I've learned to use it on my RS Wing wheel, works as good as anything if I don't let it go for a long time. Price is right as well.

Yep I believe it will,,,,ThumbUp,,, should have remembered but I have more brain farts than I once did,,,, ,,,AGE MAYBE

I use Luster Lace cleaner strips. Wraps around spokes and pull with both hands top to bottom of spokes. Real easy if you remove wheel from bike. No mess at all!

:Agree:

I was trying to remember the name. My jar came with differents widths.

The first thing I did was replace my spoked wheels with mag wheels - I wanted ti be able to fix a flat in the middle of nowhere if I had one.

I still have the rear wheel (2003 Ultra)up in the attic of my garage.

If your spokes are really bad, you might want to replace it.

Mine's available. :)
