Getting the RS install.....Should I leave the center stand or have it removed? Not getting the Wing Guards, at least not at this time. Do believe I posted on this question, but now cannot find the thread.

That's what the installer said. But seems I read on this forum that the center stand could be used if the running boards were not on. Useful when changing oil/filter. Maybe I could try a search again, see if can find any information.

Ahhh, found the one response as follows ~ ~ Seems one triker uses his.....

Default Re: Center Stand on RS Conversion
If it will have running boards, center stand can't be used if they even leave it on.
I opted for no running boards on my GoldWing/CSC conversion and still have the center stand which I use many times.Have had all three wheels and tires off the bike at one time using the center stand.I drive it onto 2 2' pieces of 2x6 boards cut on 45 degree angles on each end.Makes it easy for 1 person to pull it back onto stand. To remove rear wheels I use a small bottle kack under receiver hitch for just enough clearence to get wheel off.It will also give you a little more clearence underneath for oil/filter changes.
Biggest thing is that it helps the wife to better clean the underside.
I'm happy I kept mine.

There are two kinds of center stands - the OEM and the after-market ride-on, ride-off. If you have the latter and decide to remove it - don't dump it. That model is worth quite a few bucks. I sold mine to the installer. pepper

Good place to jack the trike up if you need to raise it up.

I have a 06 with the CSC conversion with the floor boards. My center stand is still in place and I do use it to raise the front wheel. Comes in handy when you don't have a jack. Hold it part way down and put the bike in reverse - then just drive it off. Honda shop used it the last time I had a new front tire installed, they didn't want to put their jack on my belly pan.

I like that idea. If it get the front wheel off the ground that's a real plus in cleaning. Guess it would work on the RS.

On my CSC it has the center stand, but they cut the foot lever off because of the wings. Don't know how it could be used.

It is now worthless, but the reason they didn't remove it was because it is a bear to get off. When on two wheels I wanted to replace mine with a ride off center stand and the original was hell to remove. Honda must use a very strong loc tight on the bolts. Caution, the one on the right side is left hand thread if I remember correctly.

Used the center stand a few times on our last trike, a '95 GL1500. No running boards on that one, or on our newer ride, a 2004 GL1800 so we could use the stand if I wanted. The installer left the center stand on the 1800, but cut off the side leg that is used to put the stand down. No idea why. It's there, but useless.
