Cause for Concern?

In the middle of May I sent a motorcycle seat out to Seth Laam seats to be remade from the pos it was. I sent it there after I researched his company & his work. He used to work for RDL & has a bunch of satisfied customers.

I was informed that they received my seat & it would go into production the week of 6/6/2016. I called out there 6/15/ & asked how they were coming on my seat. I immediately got a call back from them wondering who's seat that was that they had, Lost my order, "We'll take care of you"!

Since then I've called out there a few times, nobody picks up the phone or returns my calls. A few days ago I wrote his company via their webpage again no response.

Has anybody here done business with this company? Is this business as usual for them? Shall I be concerned?

Lots of views but no replies...guess no one here has has any experiance with them.

If I'm not mistaken...[Wife says i always am].He is a one man business'.. So it wouldn't take much for him to go AWL for a short time i.e. Illness, Vacation, ETC... But theres is no reason why he doesn't have a answering phone with a message....

I just now called this #1-530-282-5226 and got an answering machine. Something you'd expect on a Sunday.

I got the number from http://laamseats.com/meet-seth-laam at top right of URL. Maybe you should call now and leave a message to make contact. Good Luck!

I see on his web site under Production Process 72 hr turn around if any problems you are Emailed Texted and so forth. Don't see it for you, I like giving the small guy a chance but that's why customer service is so telling. After all he has your seat and money you did your end of the agreement. Would not have taken more than a minute for someone to text you. My 2 cents :AGGHH:

I'm probably just banging my head against the wall & hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be able to ride my 1978 GoldWing again.

But my seat order was blotched I should of had my seat back by now. I understand....Shit happens!! A courtesy call or E-mail on the status of my seat sure would go a long way.
Not bashing. Just thank you for letting me vent! :gah:

This morning I gave another courtesy call & by golly I got a Call from Seth this afternoon and had a very productive chat. Should have my seat shipped within a couple days.

On a side note I told him that I had a 1989 Honda PC 800 & if his seat is as advertised I would send it out to be remade. He said he doesn't do PC 800 seats anymore the fad has died on them but he has one laying around the garage for the 89 color he would send me along with my GoldWing seat.

Hopefully by being Positive, yet Persistant & almost Patient is going to be a good thing.

If you had that much trouble with your first seat, why in the world would you send him another??
Kinda reminds me of the old saying, " If you always do what you always did, you will always get the same response"

Before everyone starts commenting..... Did he in that ''Productive Chat'' Explain why he gave you ''Cause for Concern'' ..... i.e.; The delays and not answering /returning phone calls....

It was just small talk to hopefully get him motivated to get on my seat. And since I did mention it I'm suppose to get a free custom seat for my PC. I'm not holding my breath on that one though! If it's delivered its a good thing. Until then it falls into the "To good to be true" catagory.

My seat shipped today I have an ups tracking # & its suppose to arrive Monday.
