Best Windshield for passenger wind problem.

My passenger complains about wind buffeting her around above 45 MPH. I have a 2012 GL1800 with Roadsmith kit with stock windshield. The wind doesn't bother me except in the back somewhat when I ride solo. I have read good reviews on the F4+4 but it is also $400.00 Would rather not spend that much but if I have to in order to fix the problem that is what I will do. Which windshield and Air Wings do you folks like as far as keeping air off the passenger....

I have been doing some experimenting with different windshields. Stock, V Stream, Tulsa Tall. So far the Tulsa Tall has given the best results for my copilot. I just ordered a F4+4 from Chris Chrome, they have them discounted to $359.95 including shipping until the end of next week.
A full set of Baker Wings will make a big difference on the legs and shoulder area as well.

</div>Now you've opened up one of those "IMHO" topics. Unfortunately I do not have your problem because my wife can not ride at all now but I remember back when she did and had to ware a full face shield... <br />
<br />
I put on a Cee Baileys shield which stopped the buffeting and relieved my wife's air issue a bit. I then added the Baker Hand Wings and the face shield went on the shelf. To me it's the cheapest and quickest passenger air management accessory to think about (even before the windshield). Since I converted my '06 I have also added the Baker Trike Wings which did wonders toward reducing that wind bouncing off the rear fenders and coming back forward.

See what the folks at "<a href="http://firecreekacc.com/" target="_blank"><font color="Red">Windbender</font></a>" have to say about passenger buffeting. I have great results with this shield but can't speak about passenger buffeting as my wife rides her own trike.

Went with a +4 windshield several years ago and twice I had a very bad experience not being able to see thru or over it. Once it was splattered with mud from sugarcane trucks pulling out on the highway. I had to stretch to look thru the air vent to see where I was going until I could pull over. The other time dew from fog covered the windshield and then going into the sun it blinded me. Again it was too tall to see over. I went back to factory heigth which I can look over if I stretch. My wife and I figured it was more important to see than keeping the wind from hitting her. I don't really think it helped her much anyway.

We run stock windshield and full set of Baker Wings. The Baker Wings really helps year around, keeps cold off in the winter and you can adjust for amt of air desired in the summer. When the stock windshield is replaced am planning a F4 or equal, something wide and tall.

Wife complained about the same problem, went with the F4+2 and added the hand wings. No more problem! Went with the F4+2 to keep the adjustability that the F4+4 loses.

Yes I forgot to mention Baker Wings. Uppers, lowers, mirror wings and even the new trike wings. All help create a zone of "still air" around the seating area. Great product.

I have the same trike as you. I found that the stock windshield works well when combined with the full set of Baker wings, especially the trike wings.

I had the upper wings but still had a lot of wind noise in intercom which meant co-rider was getting a lot of disturbed air. Added the trike wings and reduced the turbulence dramatically. A little testing showed that the air coming around the lower half of the trike, below the upper wings, was hitting the wide trike fenders and moving upwards blasting the co-rider. This was particularly noticeable above 45 mph. Now I can create a "pocket" that makes her ride much more comfortable. And added benefit was I quit beating my fenders with bugs and debris as most of it is pushed out away from the fenders.

I am also voting for the F4+4 and air wings. I paid $358 including shipping over on wingstuff.com That's the VIP price if you're a member. IMHO, it is worth the price!

I've always had X-Tall Tulsa's with vent
Sick of the rain coming over the top and on my lap..
This spring I'm ordering a F4+4 w/v.
I have all the Baker wind wings (mirrors, fairing and x large trike leg ) on since new.

I went with the F4+4 Orville Sage wing wings, Baker hand wings and trike wings. It solved the problem. If I didn't already have the Bakers I woud have got everything from Orville as his brackets are stainless steel not chrome plated. He also makes windshields out of the same material that F4 uses.

We are always interested in new products. Tell us more about the Orville Sage products. A link would be nice.. <br />

THANKS !!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. Looks like I will try the F-4+4 and the Baker mirror wings first. May have to go with more wings but wait and see Again thanks to everyone and if you have more ideals please post.

</div>To fix the passenger buffeting issue, buy Baker MIRROR WINGS and install plus a KuryAkyn Airmaster Rear Airfoil will put your passenger in a complete dead airspace and completely cure buffeting. Make sure your passengers helmet fits properly as well. A loose helmet will generally exaggerate any wind coming her way as it will blow up.

I switched out my stock GW windshield for a F4 w/ vent. My wife immediately noticed the difference, particularly in side buffeting. My trike carries me to work every day, rain or shine and I have encountered fog as well. I found cracking the vent to the first standing catch, seems to help. Also, if you maintain a fresh coat of "zip" treatment that comes with the F4, fog will bead up and run off.

Love my F4!

I had a Tulsa tall on my last trike and it worked pretty good. I bought a newer trike and put a F-4 plus on it and it is better than the Tulsa. Another good feature is that it doesn't fog up like the Tulsa. Nor does water run up to the top and drip in your lap!

</div>Orville and his wife make everything. His wings are better built they are thicker and have stainless steel brackets instead of chrome plated. The windwings are a three piece that cover the bottom radiator vent. Give him a call and he will tell you all about his products as he doesn't have a web site Orville Sage<br />

Here is a picture of the ones that was on the 05 wing that I had before I got the trike. <a href="http://www.triketalk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=7280" title="Name:

When I first got my '05 it had a Tulsa extra tall on it I didn't care for it because it blocked to much air for me, but for her she hardly got any buffeting. I switched to a Windbender she says she get's some wind I don't care for this one because it rattles and shakes quite a bit. That's my 2cents.

My co-rider is now happy on our Roadsmith with stock windshield and full set of Baker air wings including the trike wings. The trike wings really improved the wind she was catching by pushing air away from those big rear fenders which pushed the air up into her face.

V-Stream F4 works for me and my wife. Switched out my stock windshield early on. After 3 years, the windshield is absolutely clear as glass. Money well spent!
