Best route from 81s to best western

Hi,

I am trying to map out my route to the rally now, I will be coming down from Maryland, I will pick up 81S around Winchester, Va..........looks a little confusing after getting off 81S and going the rest of the way to the hotel, and I am still trying to figure out the best way.......... anyone from that area have any suggestion for a route to take after I get off 81S, I know the Best Western hotel is on Rt19?? Thanks!

Ok, Here is what I'm doing


Take exit 57A to merge onto I-26 E/US-23 S toward Asheville/Johnson City
Entering North Carolina

The stay on US-23 south, then West on I-40, then west on 74, then south on 19 into Maggie Valley

I've ridden to Maggie Valley many times from MD and agree that Olbandit's route is the most direct and fastest, just under 500 miles from I-70 and I-81 junction. Once I get into VA, I jump off onto Rt 11, which runs parallel to I-81, and only jump back onto I-81 to skirt around a few of the congested towns, like Roanoke and Harrisonburg and Blacksburg. You can also do some miles on the Blueridge Parkway. It turns a typically 10 hr ride into a 13-14 hr ride, but a nice ride and easily doable in a day still. Once you get to I-26, that's a very nice interstate without much traffic.

Thanks Rocket, that is good to know, good to have an alternate route in the event of any accident etc on 81S...But I think I will take that route on the way home and enjoy the ride a little longer !.....Appreciate your input!
