Battery drain need help

I have a 2005 GL Roadsmith and if it sits off the charger for more than a week the battery goes dead. If left on the battery tender before a ride it holds a charge for about 2 days. There are no after market accessaries hooked up. One thing I noticed is a buzz in the intercom. Is my best bet to take it to a Honda dealer? Thanks for reading and any suggestions you may have.

You should have the battery load tested. Almost all auto part stores will do a load test for you for free.
It appears your battery is not keeping a good charge. How old is the battery?
The Goldwing charging system will keep the battery in good shape unless it is bad. What type of charger are you using?
My battery tender charger will flash red if the battery is bad, green when charged.

Have you tried unhooking the battery from the bike and making sure the bike is killing it. Have you had the battery tested? Don't know just something to look at. GOOD LUCK RIDE SAFE

Had that same problem last year. If I left the bike a week it would crank but not start. I babied it on a battery tender, the rest of the summer. ( didn't want a brand new battery on trickle charger all winter. I swapped it out in April. Now it starts even sitting 3 weeks off charger.

Only problem with that is getting stuck out riding with a dead battery. You don't have a clue when it will go out completely. I use to do that but I got stranded out in no where with a dead battery. Had to use my insurance to get to a shop. I won't do that again for sure.

There is always some drain when the bike is off. Sounds like you may need to replace battery.<br />

Also, if you have a trunk light, be sure it's off or is turning off when you close the lower trunk.

My insurance is a Bungay cord and a small jumper battery I carry in the trunk. $35.00 insurance from Lowes or Big Job Lots.

I have a 2006 Roadsmith and I changed out the ORIGINAL battery about a month ago! What kept me confident of the battery's ability to crank faithfully was the addition a couple of years ago of a small device called "Battery Bug". I wired it directly to the battery and velcroed it to the gas filler door where I see it every time I mount up. It tells me how much life I have left in the battery and the strength of the last crank. When I first hooked it up, th3e battery was already six years old and I had been thinking about replacing it. The Battery Bug told me I didn't have to - yet. And when I recently did replace it, the Bug said I still had 23% left. I used that battery yesterday to start up a commercial mower.

Point being: If you are really serious about not being stuck somewhere in the boonies, that simple little device can save a lot of grief.

Unfortunately Argus was sued out of business in 2012. If you were one of the lucky ones to get one,enjoy it. Its a shame no one else picked up and made enough of a variation of the battery bug to bring it back. On my trike I have a voltage guage so I can keep track on startup and running voltage.

As a PS I looked up Amazon and they still carry the motorcycle version. So if youre looking for one but want an item with no warranty theyre still to be had.
