I envy anyone who can play any kind of musical instrument.. My father played the guitar & Violin. I did not take after him... I wanted to learn to play a Banjo as I love bluegrass. Well I was told by 2 instructors that I might want to take up another hobby..:censored: I am tone death and could not really hear what I was trying to play... so I sold the banjo :banghead:
and saved my marriage. So u guys that can play I wish I had a 10th of ur talent....

I used to be able to sing pretty well, but now the dog howls. John tells us both to shut up . . . I just wait till he's in the garage and sing my heart out!!!

I am with you katfish I can bearly play a radio,But I am an excellent footpatter.

Lucky when my kids were growin up we took them to Disney.. Well we went to the Country Bear Jambaree,, I was just singing and tapping my feet and having a great time I did not notice the kids had moved to another bench :innocent: Later they told me I embarassed them :wtg:
Hey what are parents for!!!!

the labeling on the box says Vega but i can't make out what it says on the neck---headstock
It is unique---the back should come off easily so you could get the serial # witch will really help identify when it was made.. One of best banjo's is a Vega

Toneking was the registered trade name and house brand for
the New York Band Instrument Co. of New York City back in
the 1920's. The company was one of the many of the New York City
jobbers that dealt in tenor banjos during the 1920's tenor banjo boom.
The largest banjo jobbers were C. Bruno & Sons and Buegeleisen &
Jacobson but there were probably eight or nine other banjo jobbers active
during that era. Like many jobbers, New York Band contracted the manufacture
of its banjo line to a banjo factory like Wm Lange who, in addition to
manufacturing its own line of banjos (Orpheum & Paramount) made banjos
on contract for others.
Hazard a guestimate 3 to 5 hundred dollars

be nice if all our strumming members could bring their instruments to the rallie for a nite time bondfire and "ho-down"

I'de bring a guitar or banjo along if there were a few others that would be interested enough to bring theirs along-----
