Back rest

Love my adjustable on the Tri Glide. On longer rides, I find that my back, shoulders and even thighs want to feel different angles of support. Wouldn't be without my adjustable backrest that I can move while on the fly. It is sometimes difficult to get that Goldilocks position and the adjustment lever allows for that "just right" position any old time.

Being i’m the third owner I did not spring for that adjustable backrest it came with the bike so thank you to one of the previous owners however the adjustment is underneath the left wing so there is no access to it while riding I must move it Is it better than the stationary one I think so

I love my adjustable back rest but it is all I have had.

I removed the left wing to gain better access plus DK’s how to cool your bike list suggests removing it to help cool down your engine.

Is it worth the extra money for the adjustable back rest compared to the standard one. $37 compared to $219.

The biggest plus for me is the changing season and then changing riding gear. Summer I run pretty thin, but as winter sets in, the leathers come out. Being able to move the backrest back and forth keeps me in my comfort zone. jc

Adjustable

I've had both and Just my opinion the cheaper non-adjust does fine - and yes I make LONG trip - having the option of removal (on both) suits me also.

This ! Worth every penny imho. I should mention that I have the one made by Mustang Seats. https://www.mustangseats.com/Produc...it-Smooth-Harley-Davidson-FL-Touring-No-Studs

In my opinion, yes. Its nice to be able to make seating position changes: long rides, 'spirited riding' through twisties, seasonal gear, even personal injuries/overworked back, etc.
