average cost per night of campgrounds ?

Elise and i are planning another round USA trip for 2015, for about a month in late July/August. we plan to buy her her first harley, but wont be traveling 2 up
After looking at all our options, we have decided to buy a conversion van and trailer for the bike, so we can ride when we get to places we want to explore.
what would you think is about an average cost per night in campgrounds/rv parks (or whatever you call them). i know there are some fancy ones , and some a bit rough. just curious about a ball park figure for the purposes of planning. i doubt we would sleep in the van every night, but its a good way to meet people and is usually cost effective.
probably wont need powered sites
any ideas???

We own a class A motorhome, the cost of a campground with full hook-ups (water electric & sewer) ranges from $26 a night to $45 a night.epper:

We just spent a couple nights on the Maine coast and spent $32/night for a tent site with no hook-ups. It depends a lot on the area your're in and how touristy (if that's a word) it is.

Cathy and I vacation in our 28' travel trailer with the trike or a bike in the back of the pickup truck. We generally stay at a KOA with a full hookup. The cost runs anywhere from $30-$50 per night. KOA also offers rough camping (elec only), generally around $20 per night.

We like KOA because the quality of the campground is less haphazard than other options, but it generally costs a bit more than the state park or other private campgrounds.

KOA's are definitely decent campgrounds. We looked at buying a KOA membership but it really wasn't worth it for us.

KOA also has a nice phone app that shows all their locations and what facilities they have available.

In Tennessee, most of our State Parks have camp sites available, and the cost is very reasonable. The facilities available vary from park to park. Most of the National Parks also have camping, with everything from tent sites to full hookups.

If you are old enough for a senior golden age pass you can enter most of the National Parks free and a campsite at a Corp. Of Engineer Park is half price.

This summer I spent over a month on my ultra camping from KY to the west coast and back. The cost ranged from free to 45 dollars for me to tent camp at various sites. KOA was usually right off the main roads, but had lots of perks. Also found a lot of small towns that had local parks that you could stay in that were nice. Had a blast. Ride safe..
