Ive been looking here for a while and have seen the Stallion. Thats a pretty sharp looking outfit. What do you think of that one? Several of my friends have Gold Wing trikes but I dont want to have to shift. I have a few years on me now.

Before Her Purpleness, a GW1500SE Motortrike, we had The Blue Trike - a Trike Shop Runabout, the forerunner to the Roadhawk Trikerbob01 mentioned. They are both around, as are other VW based trikes, and an automatic can be had. I think they use a VW bus tranny. When she got it, Gloria also had them install a footfeet intstead of the motorcycle style hand throttle.
As mentioned, the Boss Hoss is sort of an automatic. I believe the older ones were a single speed. That much motor pushing around almost nothing else didn't need much more than "GO". I think the newer ones are 2 speeds - "GO" and "MORE GO". Most of the V-8 trikes (Kopavi, Ecstacy, etc.) can be had in an automatic.
Ridley makes automatic 750cc motorcycles, and they have added a trike to the line up this year.
If Honda does come out with an automatic Goldwing, my wife will be second in line,(She doesn't like to get up too early) and will be calling for a trike conversionwhile she is waiting.

vw trike

A lot of custom bike builders can build you an auto trike from VW's or other small car automatic parts. Just check with a custom builder.

Im new here and not great on the computer. Does anyone build an automatic trike in a Gold Wing or if not is there an automatic trike?

the closest thing you will come to with an automatic with Honda is the Silverwing it is a scooter.
That being said I saw SOMEWHERE where ther was a kit to turn a silverwing in to a trike.

In fact here is the site
Silverwing Trike

Good luck!!!

Some of the big twin HD's can be fitted with an automatic clutch, add a electric shifter (Pingel or Klicktronic) and you have the nearest thing to an automatic that you can find in conventional motorcycle based trikes. Figure a couple of thou for the clutch and shifter plus install. It won't be a cheap ride!!

Stallion makes great looking trikes. About the same price as a GL but an enclosed riding area with a ford motor and auto transmission. I think I'd like to try one of those. I'm not certain but I think they even have a top for them?

I'm a little disappointed to read some of these comments.

"Too lazy to shift" isn't the only reason somone might need automatic transmission. A lot of disabled riders have licences limited to automatic or their disabilities prevent manual shifting.

brings new meaning to "tossed under the bus" personally i dont wanna be that close to the ground .... or ride something that dose doughnuts that easy

thats just me tho

The statement was " IF you are JUST to lazy to shift " not , " Too lazy to shift " . Huge difference. If shifting is a problem because of a handicap then any amount of money or method that can solve the problem is. I am sorry and apologies if you took offense to my statement .
