Auto launching trike; 009 distributor question

Hello folks. Question: does anyone here have an 009 distributor that is problem free?
I'm not sure about mine... I took out the points because I could never get my trike to idle with either my old single port or my new dual port 1600, and installed a Pertronix pickup for the 009, along with a flamethrower 40k coil.

So now, my trike starts with ease, not a single backfire, and stays running. When it warms up, it idles perfectly at 7 to 800rpms. Then I shift into gear, up to about 1500 rpms getting out into traffic, the trike starts to lose power, for about 3 or 4 seconds.
Then if I don't baby the hell outta the clutch, this trike will suddenly try to launch on its own, no change in.my throttle. Every gear.

When I say launch, I mean it doesn't matter which gear, it'll try to bring the front wheel off the ground. And it goes on like this the entire ride.

Has anybody encountered this? I am pulling my hair out. Choke and throttle cable are set, both mixture and idle screws are set as good as I can get em. Distributor is static timed at top dead center. Carb, fuel pump, and pretty much everything is new. Tank is full and two new fuel filters, one before and one after the (mechanical) fuel pump.

If you have the stock Solex PICT 34 carb. they sometimes don't play well with the 009 dist. The hesitation just off idle is pretty well known. It seems with those carbs you need a vacuum advance to control your ignition.

I had a hesitation and found my main problem was the accelerator pump wasn't squirting down the carb. mouth. The spray was hitting the side and dripping in. I bent the little tube to give it a straight shot. Take your air cleaner off and look down in the carb. Work the throttle with the engine off and see where the spray goes.

No good for static timing on that distributor. You have to run it up to maximum and check it with a light. I think it should be around 32 degrees fully advanced but I don't really remember.

That makes sense to me. It just bums me out because I bought that Pertronix electronic pickup module (specifically for the 009) only a week ago, and now I'm looking at needing another, on top of a vacuum advance distributor. My luck, lol. Thank you for the info
