Arm rests

Ride most of the time with my better half. Started riding back in 2003 on an Ultra. Installed Kuryakyn arm rests and she loved having that sense of being held in and a place to rest elbows. Those arm rests had a ball detent that kept them in place.
So along came the trike and after a couple of hundred miles she said "I want my arm rests or you can ride alone". As we went into turns the G forces made her grab onto the tour pack for dear life (I wasn't riding that fast). Kuryakyn made a set of arm rests for the trike so we installed them and it gave her something to grab onto. Happy camper.
Technically they are ok but I had to carry a set of wrenches that you had to tighten down on the pivot nut so it would not swing out and yes you have to pay attention to the opening of the tour pak if the arm is swung out.
I looked at the new HD rests but it says excludes trike so have to look into further. Otherwise I will be going back to kuryakyn.
Anyone else know if they work with Trike?

Ya know, I looked at a pair of these from HD while I was In Meridian Id.. The parts man said they would fit the trike, but I didn't see any mounted anywhere. Now I see they are excluding the Trike & CVO ???
I wonder if there is a clearance problem with the trunk that Dennis's rails for raising the pac up might cure. Harley never will tell ya why.
I would go back there, but I don't live on that side of the state.

I would talk to someone in service or parts at a dealership to see what they think about the armrests not fitting the trike. I've run into this same problem "does not fit....." so many times before with other pieces and parts and the catalog is wrong. If it fits the Ultra or Limited, it will almost always fit the TriGlide.

That's what I've found also.
When I bought my TG in 2011 I wanted the tour pak chrome accent rail so I could mount my flag holders, but the catalog said "will not fit TG's". Well it turned out that it did fit - why wouldn't it. Parts manager had no answer.

The Kuryakan armrests work perfectly on our 2010 Triglide. i have tightened the stop nuts down a couple of times. Wife loves them!

Do the new arm rests have a detent ball to hold them straight ? The older ones I have have a detent to help hold them.

I've seen the new Harley armrests on a Trike recently and the guy said he had to raise the tourpack up to get them to fit right. It looked like he used a piece of square tube between the pack and the trunk. They looked good and I my wife saw them and has been wanting some too. I didn't want to fool with the Kuryakan's always needing attention, so here comes a honey-do-mod for me I think.

eglidegoodies.com has a set of armrests that look like something I might be interested in. Here is what they have to say:

AM-94: This fully adjustable set of armrests is the finest available. CNC machined from solid billet aluminum, hand-polished to a flawless finish and triple chrome-plated with luxuriously padded and upholstered cushions, they feature a new and innovative horizontally pivoting design that allows full trunk access without having to move the arms out of the way. The arms have adjustments for width to provide maximum passenger comfort. They attach to a sturdy steel mounting plate that fits directly behind the speaker box.

This would work without modifications or drilling the tourbox. The other thought is for the extended armrest by Corbin or Mustang seats. The Corbin looks stronger.

I have the extended passenger armrests from Corbin on my TG...work really well, Sweet Co-pilot loves it, and for no xtra charge, they added chrome studs on the top to match my Mustang seat.
