While at lunch yesterday, someone approached me (I have a Silverwing/Danson) with this question:

Does anyone make a conversion for a first year Goldwing? He bought the bike new in 1974, still has it, and wants to trike it, but can't find a conversion.

Thanks.

I think it is triwing tha is the only one. 1975 is the first year goldwing. They were not available till Feburary. That is if my memory serves my right.

Hi i would not put any trike kit on a 1200 wing --the power is not their --the gas mil. would suc- i road a friends 1500 and that would be the least power i would ever trike --i also had a friend that triked a 85 harley and the trike would not go over 70 mph he sold it after ridin a wing --i guess it depends on the ridin you are going to do --once you ride a trike with power you are spoiled --big diffrence from my 1500 wing to my 1800 --and then to my valkyrie --

Actually it was Oct of 74 GL1000 flat four. 999cc @ 584 lbs dry.....

No conversions that I know of,,,

Actually, the GL1000 was a fine runner and arguably was the forerunner that introduced motorcycle touring to the masses.

There are lots of folks around that are happily running 750 trikes, so I can't imagine that the 1000 would be a dissapointment. It's not an 1800 for sure, but it would be a blast to ride and a real head turner.

For sure, you would not see another like it!

As for the top speeds, there sure is a lot of talk about it, but I suspect that most people are actually like me. I don't even know (nor do I care) where mine would top out. I do know that it rides confortably on the interstates in the 80-85 range and my preference is around 75.

I ride for pleasure and always avoid any time pressures to be at a destination. I think that can lead to imprudent decisions and invite disaster. Just my
