I have an aftermarket stainless steel headpipe. Back when I got mine ceramic coating was not an option. So I had a local coater do it. Applied both inside and out. Before I had the coated headpipe, I couldn't ride my triglide if it was over 80 deg. So far, I've ridden it for a week in the high 80s. HUGE DIFFERENCE for the better. It's still hot, but not any hotter than my '03 SE Road King.
I got tired of the heat from the exhaust. Took pipe off, sawed in half, removed catalytic converter, welded back together, installed Big Sucker A/C, V&H slip ons, Downloaded with TTS. Runs cooler and better.
