Anybody actually ride trike stock?

Anybody know where I can get a set of wheelie bars for my 2011 TG? I sort of scared myself today. I did a wheelie & the only thing that kept me from going over was my big mufflers. All I saw in front of me was front end. Now I know you are going to say why was I doing that. Well,I was showing off alittle & twisted the wick just alittle & she raised up more than normal. I scraped the heck out of the mufflers & boy did the front hit hard when it came down. I've done wheelies before but it didn't come up that much. The HD shop told me before I picked the bike up new, maybe I should think about installing wheelie bars.I think their right. At least it will get out of it's own way. I let a guy take it around the parking lot where I was at & he said how much power it has just barely giving it gas. Guess I should quit doing it right? Could snap the belt. that would be costly. Thanks Jim

I've had mine up a couple times and don't plan on doing that anymore. If the belt brakes it will be one expensive repair unless you can do it yourself. Other things that take a beating is the rear diff, and the rubber isolators which the rear sprocket drives against. I have my 06 Ultra with the HQ 120 for when I feel the need to twist it.

The Ghost Wheels only add 65 pounds, so no extra power needed. I have an overpowered noisy motor because I like performance and noise!

Hey GaryD,I'll probably bore you with all this. But here goes.
SE race tuner,SE heavy duty clutch spring, Stage 1 set up with bigger air cleaner,259e cams, auto compression releases, forged 10:5/1 high compression pistons,SE Ported & polished Heads(they are bigger than the 110 SE heads),(that's what lets the engine breath like it should),SE adjustable push rods,V&H Power Dual Headers,V&H Hi-Out Put slip on mufflers, Dennis's lift kit, tour pak relocator, wind deflectors, licencse plate frame,HD mud flaps, chrome bumper, painted inner fairing,2" pullback handle bars, chrome dash trim kit, speaker trim kit, complete paint protector on the fenders & side panels,Klock Works windshield & misc.chrome. There is a guy in Ohio that wants to buld his trike like mine. He asked permission & I told him he can build what he wants. Hope that helps. Jim

I've moved to the quiet performance section, was pissing off the neighbors a few years back with my 05 Classic. You know they don't like you when your putting by and their standing in the yard shaking their fist at you. I've been running the Supertrapp Supermeg on my 06 for almost 5 years now, pretty quiet and makes nice power and torque. Ive run it on everything from a mile 95 to a hotter 95 to now the 120 and its never failed to keep its muzzle on and make a nice torque curve.

After putting some miles on this 120 I know what I would do with the Trike if I ever need to go into the engine, it'll be a 120 when I finished. It's a hoot having well over 100ft/lbs of torque right off idle.

I rode mine stock after buying it last August. After 6,000 miles, I decided to replace the stock head pipe with a Jackpot SS header, add a high-flow AC and a Power Vision tuner. I was disappointed with stock performance on inclined highways, where I had trouble maintaining speed.

Did you leave the factory mufflers on it with the Fuelmoto header? If so, how does it sound?

Moscko3, Yeh my neighbor hates it when I start up the bike.It rattles her windows. I was across the street & down 2 houses the other day from my stepsons collecting money for plowing & He said he new it was me cause of how loud it was. It definitly has a rumble. He said his windows were rattling. We went over to look at the bike before it was finished & when they started up everything was shaking. You could definitly hear it.

I had a '08 GL1800 Goldwing with the Champion straight axle kit. I pulled the front wheel up on it a couple of times. Try to take it easy on the TriGlide do not want to strip or break the belt, I know when I take off from a stop and i'm turning if I it hard the front tire will skip and it will try to go straight so I try to ease off most of the time.

Been there done that turning trying to go straight. I hate turning left when taking off from a stop. It's a bitch taking off to the left & trying to shift at the same time. That's when I took off going straight across the street getting into it getting out of the way of a car. The front-end came off the ground while giving it gas.

Just bought my first HD Triglide Ultra Classic. What can I do to decrease the heat?
Remove the stock header which contains the catalytic converter and replace it with a stainless steel head pipe without the CC. This helped mine a lot. You might need to address the air cleaner and EFI chip at the same time.

Save the head pipe change for last. I did the A/C - mufflers and Race Tuner from the dealer. Then I bought the floorboard extenders and had a custom "crotch cooler" made locally. I went riding last weekend in 90+ heat and was fine. I's suggest trying a couple low cost changes first - that may be all you need since everyone has a different threshold of pain from heat.
I still don't understand how removing the cat lowers the heat by the right thigh. The crotch cooler is the most help - try that first - then decide what else you want to do.
Also remove the lowers.

I'm glad I decided to wait on removing the cat - so far I don't need to.

I would suggest if you do decide to remove the cat - to keep your stock exhaust in case the law decides to crack down on non standard pipes.

Good Luck

I've had my 2012 for one month stock. Took it in today to add a bumper, lift kit, rider backrest, pack tour luggage rack and 3M tape. That's all for now!

OH BOY, here comes the 10 posts expounding the virtues of 1 1/2 lifts on the rear of the trikes.

Since nobody is selling 1 1/2" lifts, I suspect zero posts on the matter
But now that you mention it, I wonder how many lift kits have been sold by Dennis and DK...
