The headers on the 17's are good. Any Sip-on that fit the pre-17's will fit your 17.

Here are a couple of sound clips of different exhaust. The first one is an easy mod and produces VERY good power.

The other two produce really good power also.

What is a good sound is very subjective, just need to listen to a lot. But, no matter what, you are not going to get the old HD sound out of these EFI bikes.

Be careful with warranty

I was told by my dealership that if I put a non harley exhaust on my 17 triglide that it would void the warranty. I would be wary of an aftermarket if you are relying on being able to use your warranty. Make sure you do your research before adding a non HD exhaust. The dealership said that this was a change this year with the M8. On my 15 triglide, I changed over to Vance & Hines exhaust (and loved it) but it did not affect the warranty on the 15. Was super disappointed to learn this about the 17s. I opted for the screaming eagle stage 1 kit. it has been doing well and sounds decent. What I'm not used to/happy about is by going over to the high flow air filter puts a whole new gush of hot air going down my right leg since it opens up the bottom of the air filter cover. But such is life. Safe travels!
