OK, so I have the Love Jugs Mighty Mites installed, and got the 2017 accessory switch kit so I can power them up, but I have a small problem. I have to remove the ignition lock to pull the dashboard so I can install the accessory switch kit. I did this a few years ago on my '14 to install the kit on that one, but I had the service manual for that one. I remember that it required pushing up a button under the ignition lock after turning it to either the accessory or fork lock position, but I can't remember which, and I haven't bought the service manual for this one yet.

Anyone help me out here?

Thanks!

Try This Link

I don't have my service manual close at this time, but try this link. I have done this a bunch of times over the years, but I still dread it every time I do it. I finally broke down and bought two tools for this so I could turn it with the knob off the bike, one for the 14 and up models and one for my older 07 RG. I hope this link is OK to post?

Is the plug on the mighty mites different than the cool masters.I just had cool masters installed on my 17 they used the accessory plug that Harley sells and did a direct plug in under the right side cover no need to install the switch on the dash or remove the ignition switch.

Well now I am confused... I just looked under the right side cover, and there are several connectors there, but they all have something plugged into them, and none of them are the 4 pin connectors (even though the mighty mites use only two, they have a four pin connector). Not sure how they match up with the cool-masters, so I can't say. You say they use the accessory plug that Harley sells; did you have to buy it, or was it already there? Sure wish I had more information about this.Zook or Kevin, can you shed some light here?

thanks,

Don't know if this helps, On my 2011 Tri-Glide there is an accessory plug behind the left cover just under the seat....And its switched at the handlebar [Acc Rocker switch]

Maybe you can connect to it...:Shrug: If you can? then nothing has to come apart..

Mark,

The accessory plug will be under the left side cover down low, tucked under all the electronics. It will be an 8 pin grey plug and it will have a black rubber protective cover plugged into it if it isn't already hooked up to something.

Harley changes the lock removal procedure slightly every few years to drive us all crazy. Ask me how I know.

FYI the procedure in the video will not work on all years. Consult your Harley dealer or do like me and buy a service manual for every model year you work on.
