When I purchased my 2015 Trike It came with Heated Grips installed, I was charged for them, I wasn't sure I wanted them, but had no choice. Two years later I love them, what I don't like is they are the standard rubber type, they feel, small in diameter,sticky.... I want to replace them with Harley StreamLine Heated Grips, I do all my own work but have never done" grips" or "messed with a throttle" has anyone installed heated grips on a trike? The wiring is there, I have read the instructions on line but without actually doing it, it is a little hard to grasp. So I'm looking for someone that has done it for the level of difficulty.

I read your post in the other thread and the style of grips that Harley uses are built on a sleeve that will just slide on and is held on by the switch cluster. The normal grips are easy to change out. I have never dealt with the heated grips but would figure the wiring is an additional wire added to the group on the handlebar.

I'm lucky to have a Dealer (Classic Harley Davidson, Reading PA) that believes in customer service. When I recently purchased new grips for my 2014 .... they asked "Would you like us to put these on for you?" I said "Sure!" When finished I asked "How much do I owe you?" They said "Nothing .... We appreciate you as a loyal customer." ThumbUp

Since you already have heated grips ..... I would have you talk to parts and see if you really need to purchase heated grips again or maybe just new non-heated grips can be installed easily over your existing heating elements?

Grips

That was the first thing I checked, the part #'s for just the grips cost as much as the complete kit . My dealer gives 25% off but charges to install, nothing is for free, they make their money one place or another. I made my donation when I purchased my trike. If I can't fix it or install it, it not getting done.

heated grips

side by side , I installed my heated grips on my 2014 Triglide that did not originally have them. It is not a hard job at all and will be easier if you already have them. The wiring should be the same just remove what you have and replace the same way you removed ! Ebert
