180+ Motor Oils tested for Wear Protection

Thanks for the post Jim, I bookmarked it for later reading, it's a long one.

Buy the time i would read the whole post it would be time to change my oil again... Me and maybe its just me, I just use only on ''My'' Trike and bike what Harley and Victory sells... I stopped trying to out think the guys that made my Trike/Bike years ago.... And haven't had a problem doing it that way..

It is important to test our oils using roller bearings and not flat surface bearings.

An oil that is too slick may cause roller bearings to "skid" which is not good.
Redline is a "suspect" oil in this regard. Adding some Lucas oil treatment to Redline assures that the bearings roll.

I stay out of the oil debates ... I use what makes me feel good.

I surveyed over a dozen local Harley Dealers to ask what they recommend. They are not all on the same page! Surprised???

2014 > I use Syn3 in motor, Formula + in primary (change both every 5K) .... and Bel-Ray 85W-140 in tranny every 10K miles.
Almost 20K on my trike and runs great.

Bob :D
