Wer out ona ride on Sunday. Stopped to look t something for a couple of minutes and it did its thing on going down to one cylinder. We left there but at red light it wanted to stop running and oil pressure dropped to zero. Got it off the road a d hadit hauled to harley shop. They said it was a computer glitch and heat combined. Mid 80s. Also said clutch was out of adjustment. Anyone else had anythin like this happen. Only 3000 miles on it.

I found my EITMS set almost 100* to low. It was activating all the time. I set it up to advertised specs & have it only come on a couple times in this heat wave around 100* ambient. Things needing adjustment with only 3000 initial miles is quite normal. Just brake-in.
They warn about RPM's dropping below 900 because it will loose oil pressure. Even with the EITMS kicked in the ECM should maintain your 1000 RPM setting. If you have the proper oil in the engine, it should still maintain enough pressure, even if it looks low, about 10#.

set it up to advertised specs .... witch is??

Thanks,
My EITMS is set to activate at 284*f so I'm right in the park. I haven't found a table in Power Vision that shows how much fuel enrichment takes place in stage 1 though. maybe its not a visible table??

Good question. Maybe Jamie can answer that. But it is really of no need to bother with the fuel at that level because there is one more step to the EITMS.
Air cooled engines can't idle long without a heat problem anyway. You might dump enough fuel to the cyls to help cool more, but then you would have to clean that out to run right when you tried to accelerate away from your stop. Not good.....

142*C, or 288*f. Engine Temp, not oil temp. Actually stage 1 activates at 142*C. Which is fuel enrichment, & stage 2 (skip fire) at 155*C.

There is also a stage where it will lower the rpm, some are set to go as low as 960 rpm which won't hurt a thing. The lowering of the idle will lessen some heat due to less fuel being added to maintain the 1000 rpm idle, less fuel is less BTU's which means less heat.

Mine drops to about 980RPM+-. I thought that may be just the drag of the dead cylinder.
