Thinking of spraying some brake cleaner fluid on the grommet and case so i can apply some rtv.
Anyone see a problem with using the brake cleaner on the grommet? Won't take much.
Tired of the minute bit of oil leaking and coating the unders.

Yes, … pull it out a little to expose that area and give a good clean with carb clean (or brake clean) and get it completely oil free.
Then swipe around the entire circumference of that grommet with Black RTV and let it sit overnight.
It’s a quick fix that should last you quite a while.

New development: good chance the reason it was leaking is bc hd had the wire harness from the regulator routed and tyrapped off so the gromett was cocked in the hole. I re-tyrapped the wires to the frame downtube so the gromett was aligned in the hole. I still cleaned and rtv'd around the gromett.
