Rhineharts and D&D have always sounded the loudest to me on any bike.
Removing the stock head pipe makes them come alive. I have the Cobra 6300's on mine with the Cobra head pipe. Nice sounding combination to me.
This is exactly why I bought different floorboard extensions. I had so much trouble with this exact bolt location I said never again. I don't know what HD is doing with this bolt but they really need to take a serious look at how they assemble the floorboards.
Glad you were able to work through...
I have had 2 Tri Glides and 2 FW's. I prefer the FW to the Tri. As long as you are doing solo riding I think you will enjoy it. As previously suggested go to a dealer and demo ride one. The newer models have low profile tires and don't seem to ride as well and older versions.
Buying a low...
I doubt Harley would make a kit for a FW tourpack. Design was never meant for one on that machine. The kit by gqtech makes it possible, I just don't know how the top lid will handle the stress points.
I followed his last journey and was quite amazed he could keep up the pace he did. Heck I got tired from just reading his report let alone do the ride.
I bought his book, a good read.
I understand the failure of installing new shocks and still being disappointed in the ride. I bought both the shocks and a lift from a dealer and would not make that mistake again. If I was closer to Jeff I would have him install the IRS kit. I can't be away from home as long as it would take...

As new as these kits are I think only a few have ridden them. Jeff mentions a guy from Michigan riding his home and very happy with the results.
I too would like to know more about the kit. I would even like to see a ride behind video of the trike going down the road. I have asked about the...
I got this email today and there are 2 videos on the new IRS kit install for Harley Freewheelers.

Been thinking about this way too much lately. Last night I thought with some top cover modifications it would make a good doggie carrier/house to take my 2 pups with me when I ride. Cut half of the top back and install some leash holders, and a blanket inside.
I know they would be better...
