Welcome to TrikeTalk Mark! A great way to meet some members is to come down to Maggie Valley the week of Labor Day for the gathering. It's pretty popular on this board.
Welcome to TrikeTalk Panzerdanzer! Ouch, sorry to hear about your accident. I know only too well about having that itch and wanting to get back on the horse, so to speak. Just take your time and don't rush it. If it's meant to be, it will happen.
The new BT46 got delivered 2 days ago and I got it swapped onto the rim today after having the Kenda removed. First time around, it was $30 to get Kenda mounted. The shop only charged me $20 today. So I'm still ahead from what most shops would have charged me ($60 each for mounting) first to get...
I grabbed a screenshot to post a pic of your trike. Photos can be a great help in cases like this. That's all the help I can give you now but maybe someone will recognize it.
You are in the same train of thought as me. When my previous 07 was still 2 wheels, I ran a Yokahama Envigor run flat on the rear as well. After dark siding my previous GL1500, I was sold and decided I would never ride with a MT on the rear again.
True but $271.99 vs $132.88.... I will stick with $132.88 and accomplish the same thing. And that's pretty close to the cheapest I've seen lately for the Avon. Many places advertise $300+.

Just to add, you will find warnings about mixing radial and bias ply tires. That only comes in to play if you mix them on the SAME axle. That's kind of a non issue on motorcycles as there is only a single wheel on front. A bias ply tire on front axle and a radial on rear axle is completely fine.
I am putting a bias ply Bridgestone BT46 rear tire on the front. Yes, the GL1800's in the 2 wheel version do use radial tires front and back. I could just replace it with one of the popular radial tires on front rim, however, as a trike, it only uses the center of the tread and it would go...
Ok, proper 130/70-18 BT46 ordered and otw. The best price I found through a reputable online outlet was $132.88 from Rocky Mountain ATV online. Free shipping and turns out I had just over $6 in "RM cash" from previous orders so total price including tax was just over $133. Chaparral Motorsports...
