Good! I’ve been careful going in and out of driveway entrances but when the turndowns were on my air bags were toast, along with the digital readouts, so I think the trike sat a little lower. So far so good but I prefer the looks of the OEM better. Thanks again!! 👍
It’ll be interesting what size the front tire is. The UK/European Goldwings have a beefed up looking front end with exterior springs over the forks and a car tire, like US “Darksiders” run on the rear of two wheelers.
Thanks Papa Zook. I’ll call my closest MT dealer and ask them to get me a price. The old chrome pieces were also Big Bike Parts that had a couple of small notches cut out of the lower chrome area to fit over covered bolts of the MT. I didn’t realize they had their own proprietary chrome pieces.
The chrome part of the left (battery) and right side covers on my 2008 Goldwing, were in terrible condition so I replaced them with new Big Bike/Show Chrome covers. I thought it would be an easy replacement but they really don’t fit the Motor Trike part of the trike. It looks like maybe the MT...
Ditto on the comments above.
My original digital readouts for the voltage and air bags pressure was very intermittent, it was off more than it was on. The small circuit board was faulty so I finally bit the bullet and bought the replacement digital readouts and installed it. At this point it...
When I got my new-to-me, 2008 Goldwing, w/Spyder conversion, I had one of the lights out in the rear light bar. I had the closest Motor Trike dealer order a couple of the LED lights figuring I better have a spare on hand as well. MT has been very responsive and although the lights were I thought...
Vibration problem solved, thanks again for everyone’s suggestions. So when I pulled out the driveshaft I found what you see in the first picture. 3W-lonerider will see the problem in the blink of an eye. As I looked at I immediately thought, “How did I do that?” I know better but I was rushing...
Thanks for all the comments. I understand what the phasing means but after I cleaned the driveshaft up and lubed the spline they just weren’t perfectly lined up. I tried flipping it 180 degrees but it looked identical. I would think MT would have marked each end of the shaft knowing it would...
I finally got the trike out during a break in the rain after replacing the front wheel, lubing the heim joints, replacing the pinion seal, replacing the air bags digital circuit board, and removing, cleaning, greasing, and replacing the drive shaft. I now have a slight vibration from 0-25 to 30...
Road Dog, I didn’t want to do it but while I was doing the heim joints and taking out/greasing the drive shaft, I kept looking at the moist wet pinion area and it bugged me. It was somewhere at that point I figured out that’s what was coating the inside of my new chrome rear wheels...
The pinion seal was seeping on my 2008 Goldwing with the Spyder, solid axle rear end, so I decided to change it today. It is shown as a Ford 7.5 differential in some of the information I've read. (I was talking at breakfast with Roadsmith and a Hannigan Trike owners and they both thought they...
Welcome Trike Talk from Southern Maine, David!
I had a love/hate relationship with a BMW K1200LT between Goldwing models. Nice bike but it was then that I realized German engineers are very different from Japanese engineers!
