Thanks Jack. The heat appears to be seizing the piston, although the pump only runs when transferring fuel. It hasn't run dry. I'm going to carry a small spray bottle of water and use it to cool the pump next time this happens.
I have a 2004 Roadsmith on a 2002 Goldwing. On long rides on a hot day the auxiliary fuel tank transfer pump does not work. I can hear it trying to pump, but nothing happens. After the bike cools down, the pump works fine. I'm figuring the pump seizes when the weather is very hot along with...
I've had a 2006 GL1800 with a Roadsmith conversion (S/N ST1804025). It has an auxiliary gas tank. When I transfer fuel, both lights at the switch go on. When the auxiliary tank is empty, both lights stay on. It is my understanding one of the lights will go off and the pump will stop when the...
I have a 2002 GL1800/Roadsmith conversion with the 5 gallon aux fuel tank. Does anyone have a complete schematic of the dashboard lights, switch, Fuel pump and the float that is in the aux tank? The Roadsmith installation manual has a schematic, but it only includes the dashboard lights and...
This past summer I bought a 2002 Honda GL1800 with a Roadsmith conversion. The bike had 75,000 miles on it and some severe scratches on the top of the front fender. I realized the scratches were from the bottom of the Fairing hitting the fender. I looked a little closer and realized the front...
I have a lot of experience on Valkyries, but I don't know what was done in the conversion to a trike. I can't be of much help without that experience or electrical prints.
Please clarify. You said it has always done this since you owned the bike. Did you own the Valkyrie before it was converted to a trike or did you buy it after it was converted to a trike?
I recently purchased a 2002 Goldwing with a Roadsmith conversion. I am the third owner so I don't have all the history. The Roadsmith conversion has an early serial number that places the Roadsmith near 2002.
I need to press very hard on the brake pedal to get any real action. I mean REALLY...
Hello, I've been riding for 58 years. Getting to the point I have trouble coming to a stop on two wheels and controlling the landing. Last two wheeler is a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. A longtime friend of mine recently passed away and I was able to buy his 2002 GL1800 Roadsmith from his widow...
