I like to use a triangle measurement. I measure from the outside of the rear axle hub to a known center on the front of the frame.
Trike looks awesome!!!
I have a 2008 with a 6 speed and have had this happen to me. See pics. Of my own doing I had forgot to check both sides of my swing arm locking nuts for tightness. Over time one of them backed off and the rear assembly was moving enough to break the casting of the transmission housing. I ended...
As it goes I can never leave well enough alone. I have had another carry rack built that hopefully will serve what I want it for many years to come. I added the ability to disconnect the rack without laying on the ground.
Over the winter during my maintenance on my trike I swapped my pulley setup to a 30/70 combo.
Rode up to my parents place into central NC on state roads of varying speeds. 35mpg going up and 37mpg coming back.
Got to say this was a pleasant surprise to get 3+ mpg from my previous 32/66 setup...
Anyone a Motortrike Dealer on here? I have a couple of questions
I have a few questions if someone on here is a authorized Motortrike dealer. This pertains to the Trog kit rear end
1) The sealed bearing that is in the first picture below. When I removed the left axle assembly the bearing was...
Came across this article on this new exhaust company and one of the muffler design that would give a trike a little more ground clearance. >>http://cyrilhuzeblog.com/2014/08/12/double-down-exhaust-slip-ons-for-harley-touring-models/#more-138446
Thought I would pass on some info. After installing my new SE Comp I got a whirring sound and slight knocking within the primary. Turns out the Inner Primary Bearing was failing on me. The tell tale sound is a whirring sound and a slight knock heard from the primary.
If you do hear this, the...
I got my 3rd and the newest SE Comp installed. I added the GMR Compusaver oiling tray and Steve @ GMR gave me a PEEK washer to test long term on my trike to replace the bearing washer that comes in the lastest SE Compensator kit. The instruction are not much different from the 1st version SE...
You're off on your assessment with temps. Synthetic oil rating for thermal breakdown is done in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
Additionally, synthetic oil base stock has molecules that are all the same size. Dino oil has different-sized molecules, which tend to break down under high heat or heat...

I didn't know that. The locking tab HD part # 45794-94A
I attached a pic of what it looks like. I just replaced the fork oil on my trike yesterday and checked to make sure the stem was still tight and adjusted correctly, so I snapped a pic of the tab.
I thought I would post the oil temps I was seeing on my ride from home here near Myrtle Beach SC out to the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley NC and back.
I run a Oil Bud Oil cooler with the oil filter bypass unit that came with it and have my oil temp sensor reading the oil temp...
