    Mid engine trike info

Yes, the engine noise, heat, etc., is BAD ......almost as bad as riding a Harley. Speaking of Harley and Trikes.....here is my mid compared to a Harley. A touch shorter even with the "raked out springer". And a lower overall (other than the apes), seat is very much lower Also, it is quite a bit...

    Mid engine trike info

The trans does not HAVE to be upside down. The typical way to do it is remove the diff unit out of the side of gear box and walk around to the other side and stick it back in. Of course there is things to take care about, the main one is setting the gear backlash. But if you are using the same...

VW Coilovers for Leading Link Forks

Sorry.....I have not fully read your thread.....sorta came in here at the end. I am assuming you are putting a front end on an existing neck. When doing that the neck height does not matter much and the height dimension is for reference. Neck height and/or neck angle (rake) don't matter to the...

VW Coilovers for Leading Link Forks

On mine I am running about 7/8 inch trail, and have adjustment steps at 1/8 inch, 7/8, and 1-5/8. I have not tried any but the 7/8, and I am happy with that spot so far. https://triketalk.com/threads/tech-tech-tech-or-so-you-want-to-build-a-trike.35579/post-411465

First, Merry Christmas, all! Next, can anyone tell me what is involved in converting a swing axle to an IRS trike, 1600 DP engine. Is this possible?

To convert from swing to an IRS. You need an IRS trans, cv joints/axles. The IRS trailing arms, spring plates, torsion springs, spring end caps. All the parts are a bolt on swap.....except for the inner pivot point for the arms. This is the conversion kit spoken of. It is just the pivot bracket...

First, Merry Christmas, all! Next, can anyone tell me what is involved in converting a swing axle to an IRS trike, 1600 DP engine. Is this possible?

So do you have an IRS trike? And you want to convert a swing trans into an IRS? Or Do you want to put the entire swing in a chassis for an IRS? Or Do you want to put an IRS into a chassis for a swing? The kit referenced above is the cut and weld kit to put an IRS into a swing chassis. Can a...

Went to a local burger joint cruise in last week. Just a few folks. The most common question "what is it". And my answer "an old VW" This past weekend I drove to Euro Fest. A big show in the capital city. Put a couple hundred miles on it no problem. Parked in the "legends" area (driven cars)...

[VW] New ancient old guy from Alberta

Several things to consider. That is a very old engine (1950's) Not a lot of parts availability. Not much in aftermarket or performance parts. Mated to the correct trans it will not like 70mph. The generator stand being cast in will mean it will have to stay 6 volt.....unless you spend the big...

    Bad Ass Trikes

It is good to hear from you and learn what happened. Sad to lose someone close and inspiring. I called him one time around 2010-2012 range. I ended up making my own parts, I went with a little more power in mine that the parts had to handle. But he was the inspiration that it could be done...
