Yes, the engine noise, heat, etc., is BAD ......almost as bad as riding a Harley. Speaking of Harley and Trikes.....here is my mid compared to a Harley. The trans does not HAVE to be upside down. The typical way to do it is remove the diff unit out of the side of gear box and walk around to the other side and stick it back in. To convert from swing to an IRS. You need an IRS trans, cv joints/axles. The IRS trailing arms, spring plates, torsion springs, spring end caps. All the parts are a bolt on swap.....except for the inner pivot point for the arms. This is the conversion kit spoken of. It is just the pivot bracket...- DeathBySnuSnu

So do you have an IRS trike? And you want to convert a swing trans into an IRS? Or Do you want to put the entire swing in a chassis for an IRS? Several things to consider. That is a very old engine (1950's) Not a lot of parts availability. Not much in aftermarket or performance parts. Mated to the correct trans it will not like 70mph.
