Pat, I had the privilege of meeting you in Kerrville a few years ago. You amazed me by knowing the manufacturer of my (not very common) windshield. Thank you for being an ambassador to the sport. You have been a positive influence for many. Enjoy your time with family and friends to the max...
Memories...... This weekend I did a road trip with over 100 other Ford Mustang owners. We started here in the valley with a police escort to get us on the freeway. Then off to eastern Arizona, south to north on the Coronado (191, Devils Highway) and on to Pinetop where we all had rooms at the...
I had a Tom Simmons Custom on my last 3 wings. Transferred from one bike to another when I traded. Only parted with it when selling my last trike. I understand.........
I think you're taking the wrong approach. You're looking at the cost to replace your USED trike (accessories) with NEW. I think if you totaled your trike, the value of your Wing plus $13,000 in accessories would be more than enough to replace your entire trike with one comparable to what...
I've evolved a bit more. After 50+ years on 2 wheels, I went to 3 when I turned 70 years old. I then went back to a 2 wheel GL1800 for a year and found myself VERY uncomfortable. So back to 3 for another few years. I finally got to the point of leaving bikes (trikes) in my past and moved on...
Many years and a few hundred thousand miles on different GL1800s experienced right at 40 MPG while touring. My old 2008 GL with CSC trike was right at 36 MPG while cruising in the same fashion I did on 2 wheels. Your newer trike will probably do a little better. I also had an aux. tank on my...
A quick follow-up to my previous post..... The most devastated area is Pacific Palisades where the AVERAGE home value WAS 3.5 Million. I have a very hard time convincing myself that I need to help contribute to rebuilding homes for those folks. What I can get behind is helping the first...
I (often) have weird thoughts, and I've had a few about the LA disaster. One is that I wonder how many of the very wealthy Hollyweird elite are contributing lots of money to help their burned-out neighbors (and them selves). There is literally no such thing as a sub-million dollar home in this...
A few years back I rode with a guy who had an empty holster mounted on his bike. His theory..... Crooks looking to steal his bike or its' goodies would see the holster and wonder where the gun was and if it was pointed at them!
It's not clear if you're asking about securing a pull-behind or a cargo trailer. I've done both. Re; Cargo trailers, I always back the trailer in to make it impossible to remove the bike if the trailer is broken into. Even places that have signs saying to not back in. I just tell the clerk...
Always used a locking (rocker) front wheel chock with a ratchet trap through the front wheel and to the trailer corners for extra security. And, use a rag at the wheel where the strap goes through. Otherwise, sharp wheel edges WILL abrade and cut your strap. Then use soft ties with straps...
Today we officially topped out at 83 degrees here in the desert. The indirect angle of the sun makes it feel a lot cooler for us locals who endure the ovens we see in the summer......
