To all those Guys who will NEVER ride a trike....snicker

Dunno about the UK - my only visit thus far was a brief pass through Heathrow - but I found that trikes seemed very popular in the Republic of Ireland. I had occasion to go to a custom bike show there back in 2003, put on by a local motorcycle club, and found a tent full of fascinating...

    Using the reverse motor

I'm apparently not smart enough to use mine -- it never seems to function as it should -- so I make a point of parking where I won't have to use it. I am disabled, but so long as I'm not backing up a steep grade I can usually use my legs to push her into place.

To all those Guys who will NEVER ride a trike....snicker

My wife, who knew nothing about motorcycling before hooking up with me, and had no desire to ride her own, changed her mind after going through the MSF Basic Rider Course with her best friend. She had just gotten her motorcycle license -- in fact, we were talking at lunch that day about what...

Do you ride your TRIKE on dirt roads??

I rode my two-wheelers -- rigid shovel, FXRS, BMW R1100R -- down every dirt road, gravel track and washed-out goat path I could find, and loved it. Dropped the FXRS in a slick-as-owl-snot low water crossing, but other than that, never had a problem. In October, I took my Freewheeler out to...

Hello from a new member in Detroit MI

A belated welcome from deep in the heart of Texas. I have a 2016 Freewheeler, too. Got some helpful advice here about certain issues I was having, and willing to give back when I can. This was taken yesterday afternoon at Buescher State Park in Bastrop County.

Interested in a get together, Sugestions

Just found a decent scan the front page from the Daily News. First time I've seen it since that week.

Interested in a get together, Sugestions

I didn't see 'em until the early '70s, but I saw 'em several times, including the Watkins Glen Summer Jam with The Band and The Allman Brothers. And yes, psychedelics were frequently involved. :Joker3: Need I say more? :Joker3: Was never a Deadhead, per se, but I liked 'em well...

    Basic Training....

Like my father and grandfather before me.... Lackland AFB, July 1974. I was seventeen years old, but the stewardess served me and my fellow enlistees all the Coors we could drink on the flight down from Newark. As a result, I was more than half in the bag by the time I was standing at the...

How many time have you been asked why you ride? Well for me this sums it up!

Uh... it's the freedom, man! I am an avid reader and bibliophile, and over the years I've collected hundreds of books on motorcycles: histories of motorcycling and of various marques, biographies and memoirs of riders and racers and pioneers, encyclopedias, technical manuals, adventure sagas...

If this has been asked before.... (shocks?)

I hate when pics don't post the way I tell 'em to! Rather than jack with trying to delete and repost the pics in the original post, I'll just repost here. Sláinte!

If this has been asked before.... (shocks?)

Happy New Year, y'all! So, once I started I got stuck into the work, and didn't quite do the step-by-step record I'd promised, but I did take some photos. First, as MyTurn noted, the box had to come off. I have no idea how anyone could reach those top shock mount bolts with the box in the...

If this has been asked before.... (shocks?)

I've had the box off.... I took the taco box off the week I brought the thing home from Houston, to replace the 4" unbaffled cones with OEM mufflers, and if I need to, I'll pull it off again. However, a number of people, from Duane at DK to users here, have told me I shouldn't need to take...

If this has been asked before.... (shocks?)

The adventure begins! If nothing else, DK gets major props for fast shipping. These showed up at my doorstep this afternoon! Nice neat box, with all items securely packaged. The lift kit, of fairly hefty steel with a nice finish. The bushings that will be required for installation...

Covering hole where passenger seat fits

I scored a clean-looking set of OEM long-stem mirrors (Harley-Davidson part numbers 91846-03B and 91848-03B) on eBay. They may not be perfect, but (as anyone who looks at either of my bikes could probably guess) I am much more concerned with function than form. Fingers crossed, they arrive...

Covering hole where passenger seat fits

It got my hips up above my knees, which was essential due to the nerve damage at the spine. I went with 3" springs, to give myself the best lift, but they turned out to be stiffer and stronger than I gave them credit for. The back of the seat is high enough that even with my full 185 pounds on...
