It's not the best solution, but it's OK until something better comes...
I installed a splash guard, to minimize the damage to the oil cooler. I wanted to keep the bob-tail look, and from the side, the guard is hardly noticeable.
Another route might be a Dyna Switchback front fender. I haven't measured the mounting holes, but it looks like it would fit. If...
Removed the gas tank. On the left front side of the frame wire trough, there's a white Molex 4-pin female connection with 3 wires out, doubled-back and secured with a black nylon cable strap. Cut the nylon cable strap to release the Molex 4-wire connector that H-D intended to use as auxiliary...
This year, I decided to take the plunge and buy heated clothing. I didn't want (and couldn't afford) to buy everything all at once, but my hands and toes tended to get cold after riding in 40°+ weather after a while.
I wasn't prepared to buy / install heated grips on my 3 motorcycles, which...
I installed LED lights on my previous Sportster-based trike. It got a LOT of attention at night.
I bought the parts from www.customdynamics.com, but there are a lot of other vendors out there, so shop around. Warranty length DOES matter ~ once in a while, one LED dies.
I didn't want to...

The Rider Backrest Mounting Kit (Picture 1) included instruction sheet# -J04733. It prompts you to remove the seat (DUH) and the ECM caddy/battery cover.
I used a wooden paint stirrer, with a grease marker on the bottom edge (Picture 2)
When I removed the seat, the mark from the grease...
And have you installed a rider backrest? (not a passenger backrest / sissy bar.)
I know there are only a few who have this seat installed to begin with ~ a H-D 'Tallboy' seat P/N 52000134. If you've successfully installed a H-D Adjustable Rider Backrest in your H-D 'Tallboy' seat, I'd like to...
I guess we may find out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-David...m=191595108404
It's a clear title in Connecticut, and seller claims 50 miles (although that's not in any pictures) As of Saturday night, $18,K hasn't cleared the Reserve price. The auction ends 6/14 Sunday night.
My 2005 Softail has a gas gauge, and it's always relatively accurate. Also, when I installed a digital gauge on my (previous) 2009 XL1200 Lehman Raider, my digital fuel gauge was accurate. So, I expected my 2015 FLRT to be relatively close-to-accurate too.
Keep in mind that I'm getting used to...

I resisted the urge to add 'curb feelers' or chrome mudflap girls :D
