I just read some posts about age and riding Motorcycles. And I saw there is more then a few of us that still ride. I don't AT ALL feel my age. Or as my wife and daughter's say act it either ThumbUp So how old are you ? Also when did you start ridin M/C's ? Thanks

Ok I'll go 1st. I was 37 when I got the bug real bad for a 1982 Corvette. So off I was on the hunt for the little Red Corvette with my who is now my brother in law. Well being a G.M. employee I wanted the G.M. Discount. None of the dealers would do it. Said they didn't have to cause they sold themselves. Well I had a more then enough choice words and told them where to stick that Corvette. So being all pissed off and heading home. My brother in law Jim says. Hey mind if we stop at this motorcycle shop ? I have a friend that works there & I haven't seen him in a while. Well that Ca$h was burning a hole in my pocket. To make it a shorter story I left there with a brand New 1982 Motorcycle. Oh by the way. I never ever rode a street bike till the next day. Jim rode it home for me 45 miles. Also didn't have a endorsement either. That was in the 82. The next yr we took our 1st cross country ride. From Michigan to Arizona :D I just turned 70 on the 7th of June and still riding. :Dorag:

I got my first bike when I was 23. My brother bought a 750 Honda and I bought a 750 Kawasaki. Bought my first Goldwing in 2002 (had to wait till kids were grown to afford a big bike) it was a 1984 1200 Aspencade. In 2007 (after much frets and moaning from the wife) I bought a trike. It was a 1992 1500 Goldwing with a Motortrike kit on it. It was beautiful blue and gave us many miles of smiles (once the wife learned to ride and got her endorsement so she could ride without me) and all was good. In 2011 I had the opportunity to move up to a 2002 1800 Goldwing with a Motortrike kit with more bells and whistles than should be allowed. We not put over 10,000 miles a year on the trike (will be much more when I retire). I am 56 and hope to retire when I am 62. Hope to ride till I am in the coffin.

I'll be 62 in September...1970... I built my first Motorcycle from Parts...1961 Triumph 650 Bonneville...traded it for a 1961 Harley Panhead...rode 14,000 miles that year...have ridden pretty much 30,000+ miles each year ever since...2009 was the most at 42,000+, Last year represents the least at 22,000+ due to my Wife having to change jobs...I've owned most every Motorcycle and Scooter Brand made, including lots of Brands no longer in business...All of Our Trikes have been Hondas, except for a 1948 Harley Servi-Car.....ThumbUp:10:

Well, I'm sure I'm not the youngest:D, I'm 76, started riding when I was 16, I still ride every two to three days, like to ride in the morning when every one else is at work, most of the time the back roads, only had two accidents in all [not counting the ones I caused showing off] One I was doing 55-60 mph and blew a back tire, was knocked out for about 25 minutes [no helmet laws then 1956]. second time a young girl was behind me and was drying her new finger nail polish job out the window of her mustang, I slowed to make a right turn, she didn't, I was knocked 40 ft. down the road [that was in 1975].
When I go for a ride now, before I leave my drive way, I tell myself that some one out there is going to try and kill me today, so far it works;). Drive safe.

58 now..but the first bike I owned I was 22 and it was a 1980 Suzuki GS 1100E fully faired out Windjammer 4 with an AM/FM 8 track stereo. It was the first of the sub 11 second quarter mile bikes. It screamed even with that fairing on it! First I ever drove was a Sears minibike when I was 8.

I'm 52 now. Bought my first trike in 2009 at the ripe old age of 48 and have been riding them ever since. Went to a trike because Navy surgeons fused my ankle and did a few knee surgeries and I wasn't able to support he weight on two wheels.

Been end riding Harleys for a bit over 32 years.

I got my 1st bike when I was 16 Suzuki TS185, 55 now and still riding just got a trike a few months ago, Doc said trike it or sell it easy choice.

I am 61. Started riding when I was 14 on an old Honda 90. Since then I've owned a 1966 BSA 650, 1971 Norton Commando 750, 1974 Honda 750, a 1976 Harley Davison "Bi-centenial" Electra Glide, 1981 Harley Davidson Low Rider, 2000 Harley Road King, a 2005 Harley Ultra Classic which I still ride, and a 2014 Harley Tri Glide my wife said I should buy that she now rides!;) We are heading out tomorrow to explore South Dakota on our bikes!

I am 63. Started riding at 15 on a Bridgestone 90 that my mom won on TV Sportsman Club out of Terre Haute In. Progressed to Suzuki dirt bikes and then to Suzuki Road Bikes. The Refinery that I worked at shut down and had to sell my Suzuki 750 Lowrider. Got a few small dirt bikes in the mean time. Was several years before I was able to get my first Harley. A 2008 Lowrider, loved it and so did the wife, then came a serious of ailments that steered us to the 2009 Triglide. Thought I wouldn't like it ,but was wrong.

the neighbor had a Honda SLR 70? and a Honda trail 70.
He used to let me ride them when we were in 5th grade.
I rode thru high school and college
Then I did something STUPID and laid my V65 Magna down hard.
I walked away, but the bike took the brunt of the damage.

I gave riding up til about 2007 when I bought a used trike

Don't know about youngest trike rider, but pictured here are my nephews Theo and Dash (on Harley). One guess who buys this stuff for them. Seems like Dash is starting to ride earlier than most. Looks like he might want to be an M/C cop the way he pulled his brother over and is being handed the wallet. :qpnmt:

1969 I had just graduated HS, 17 years old and I needed transportation to work. My sister had just gotten a 50cc Honda, and I ask my folks if I could get a motorcycle. Cheap transportation. So I got a 50cc Honda Super Sport, 2 months later a CB160 and then in April 70 a new CB750. 3 years and 43k miles later joined the Air Force for 6 years and in 76 came back from Germany where I had seen my first and only GoldWing and knew I had to have one. Had a 76, 79, 84 and a 93 GL1500SE. Crashed and burned in 1997 and did not get back on until March of this year on a 95 GL1500SE that is to be triked the 7/8th of July. 28 years riding, a 17 year hiatus and I am back in the saddle again. Feels good to be back. Oh yeah, I am 62

I'm 67, MJ is also 67. I started riding when I was in my early teens. I was not allowed to have a 2 wheeler because my mother did not approve. When I was about 13 I saw a early HD Electra with the fringe around the seat and bags, plus the side shifter on the gas tank. I remember that bike to this day. So i rode my friends assorted bikes as I was growing up. In 1966 at the age of 19 I joined the AirForce. Down in Mississippi I bought a Honda Dream that I rode for a few months. I got transferred and sold the Honda. Transferred to Duluth Minn. for the next 3.5 years. Got married had my first daughter. Left the military joined the FAA. In 1972 started riding dirt bikes in the Chicago area. Had a HD Italian 250 that I stripped to ride in the dirst. Then I bought a Honda Enduro 125 race dirt bike. In 1976 went to the street with a Honda CX500. Bought the wife a Honda 450 auto because she said I would get her on a bike when they had an automatic. Well Honda did in 76. She would take the kids to school on the back of her bike. Sold the bikes in 1980 as we moved to Miami. Didn't get back into bikes until 1998 when I bought a Suzuki then went to HD's. Bought the wife a Stallion in 2008. She saw the prototype when we were in Daytona Biketoberfest 2006 and fell in love. Put a deposit and took delivery at Daytona Bike Week 2008. Shes got 75k under her since then. I switched from HD 2 wheels when I took my 2007 Police Road King and made a Road Glide Trike/Champion conversion in Spring of 09. 60 k later I bought a new Tri-Glide this past September. Leaving shortly for a 5 k mile trip up into Canada. Thats our story. I started around 14 and MJ started at 29.

I started with a $50 moped when I was 15. He said it didn't work. I tore it all apart and painted it and out it back together. This was in December and I HAD to try it out. Damn cold out but she worked. I'm now 70 and ride to Canada each year for the HOG rallys and to Rolling Thunder in DC each year.
I ride all winter here in Chicago if the streets are dry.
I do approximately 10K to 15K miles a year. Still working or I'd put more on. LOL

Going to Canadian National HOG rally in Kingston, Ont. next month

Bought my first Honda in 1961 when I turned 16. Used all of my paper route money. On Harleys since 1970. First trike for me was 2011 when we bought a new Tri Glide for my wife and I inherited her 'old' 2009 Cancer and heart problems took both of us off 2 wheels. Not the oldest here, will be 70 in November.

I'm turning 50. I started riding my trike in 2008 at the young age of 44 thanks to hit n run that almost killed me.

I lost half of my left leg along with other permanent injuries that put me on my trike.

I'll be 56 in August, started riding a TG at age 52.

Started on a mini-bike at 6, first motorcycle was a Honda Trail 90 at 11. A series of dirt bikes til college, then got a Honda SL350 as my only transportation. Been riding (metric, British & HD) non-stop since, both dirt and street up until about 8 years ago when I stopped riding in the dirt...only street now.

As far as youngest...Devin, the "D" in DK is 28 now, he has ridden my TG a bit since he was 25...but it is not what he prefers. lol

I used to borrow friends bikes and take them for rides in my early teens, I was a loose nut with a need for speed. I kept myself off bikes until my kids had about grown up and I didn't have the desire to pin the throttle and see where the speedometer stopped. I bought my 1st Harley in 04, it was a new Sportster. I kept the Sporty for 2 months before I traded it on a new Electraglide Classic. The following year I swapped the EG Classic for my 06 Ultra Classic. The following year I almost pulled the trigger on an 07 Ultra, until I road it and found out it was a toaster oven on wheels.

I road my 1st trike when I was 44 and took delivery of my 2010 Triglide when I was 45. I like trikes, their something different, I especially like traveling on them. I just turned 50 this year and still like to have a trike in the stable, I missed not having a trike when I traded my Triglide in on a new Goldwing. I was fortunate enough to have that problem solved last year when my Goldwing grew a 3rd wheel at the Hannigan factory. No immediate health issues keeping me off 2 wheels, I still ride my 2 wheel Ultra Classic quite often.

It all started when I was 14 (it was 1964). I bought a used Whizzer motor bike for $55.00. Tore it all apart and painted it red. At 15 I got a Honda CB160. Then a 650cc BSA. A 650cc 4 stroke Kawasaki. In 1971 a Blue/White 1970 shovel head Electa Glide. A 750 Honda Shadow(somewhere in here). In 1989 a 1985 Harley Low Rider. In 1998 a 1998 new 95th anniversary Ultra. In 2010 my current 2009 Triglide. I think I left a couple dirt bikes out. It kind of just got in my blood I guess!:Dorag: Ride Safe! :pepper: Anyone else have a Whizzer????????????

No, but I had a Sears Allstate Compact Scooter. Loved that baby. 100 MPG not bad for .25 cents/gallon.

Great city vehicle. Took it on the expressway once = ONCE!!!

Cop made us get off(yes I had a passenger). :AGGHH:

So far, a TRIKE TALK MEMBER/RIDER DAY CARE hasn't been needed for Anyone posting in this Thread...nothing here but "Young Adults".....:D

Well I stared riding motorcycles in 1970 at the age of 17 and my first motorcycle was a 1967 Honda S90. So I've been riding for 44 years now. My Tri Glide is the 21st motorcycle I've owned in those 44 years so over the years I've had quite a few different makes and models of motorcycles. I went to a trike in 2011 as I knew that sooner or later my 900 lb Ultra would start to get to heavy. So been on my trike for 3 years now and lovin it.

Well won't officially be riding trike for another week or so still waiting on build to be completed but at 43 now and knee shot from the old glory days of high school football really no other choice for two up riding. Letting go of the 05 Ultra Classic but it will be a cold day in hell before you pry my first harley out of my hands its a 02 Fatboy. I started out riding a mini bike at about 10 that my granddad and i built from scratch. I look back on those days and miss him and miss all the times we spent out in that old shop of his. Much simpler times even back then.

I got my Triglide last fall, a couple months before my 43rd birthday. Only been seriously riding since 2011 when I bought a new Softail Deluxe. I put about 3500 miles on a 02 Sportster from 2006 to 2011. Oh yeah, I had a Suzuki 185 enduro when I was 16 for about a week until mom saw me doing wheelies in the back yard.

The reason for the trike: I wanted more of a Touring bike and test rode an Ultra Limited, Road King and trike. I liked the stability of the trike.

After a few years on mini bikes and honda trail 70's I got my first real motorcycle a Hodaka ace 90. I have had close to 50 bikes since. I bought my first Harley at 17 and my first new one in 79 @ 21. I am on my second trike, I had a 80" flathead on a raked servicar frame with a +12" girder front end. after 6 days in the hosp. I swore off trikes. Fast forward 30 yrs. (where did they go?) I am back on a trike I purchased this one @ 55 after being injured a few years ago. Jury is still out, I am having a hard time adjusting to the handling and the lack of speed and power
