Why do the new 2016 trikes look like they sit higher (level) and the tour pak looks level. Did harley make a change? Mine looks like it is level with 24 psi in the shocks, tour pak don't look like it sags.

Lifted Mine

Here are a pics of ours with Lift kit we did not level tourpak. Maybe sometime in future plan on that Mod.ThumbUp enjoy the ride fearless

Did the DK comfort lift and tank lift with deluxe option. Have not touched the tour pak. The Sweetie has a back issue from an auto accident, and it took sitting on many bikes before buying the first Harley 07 ultra classic. The tour pak fits her back perfect and I don't want to mess things up. Jim

Plz don't flame me for my opinion

I've noticed a trend on this forum. When someone asks a question, there are a number of folks who, rather than providing an answer, detail all the stuff they've done to their trike and they never really address the person's original question. There are even folks who don't ride HD trikes who provide feedback on their manufacturer's trike models even tho it has nothing to do with the HD model. Go figure!?! I don't have an answer to this member's question regarding whether the new trikes sit level compared to older models. Maybe a dealer type who trolls the forum could address his/her concerns.

I thought the same thing last year. But it's just the way the new shape of the tourpak appears.

Thanks I thought it was just me. I guess I could show a picture of my car with air shocks to show how high it is before and after.LMAO

I was looking at '16s at the dealership yesterday. Other than paint, and higher price, nothing stood out as being different to me.

Have u every had pizza with beans?
Really a mess later so I have been told.

Just making the point of agreeing with how far off topic some threads will go.

Thank you !!!

I was noticing the other day how often this happens, just about 100% of the time. Here awhile back somebody ask about MPG on a trike. Everybody told all the modifications they'd made to their rides how it effected their MPG and the issue of stock MPG was never mentioned other than the question.

Sorry, about the highjack...now back to your previously recorded program on "riding high in the saddle"...

Hey what makes u think that I'm a good sport! Well ok I am and it takes a lot to get me riled. I never did find out about my question tho. I was looking at some 14 and 16, and it just looked like 16 set more level.
So there. HA HA HA.

If you look closely, I actually directly answered your question. You just have to sift through all the fluff. :D

I noticed that too. Makes me wonder if there has been a running change in the air shocks ? If they have a new for '16 p/n that would give us a plausible answer. The Mo Co is notorious for doing such. One other possibility is that the make ready peeps are not adjusting the shock air pressure pre delivery.

Back on topic...

The newer models look more level for one, or possibly 2 reasons.

1. The Tour-Pak is not only a different shape, but the rack it sits on is angled so the Tour-Pak sits parallel with the ground, not parallel with the top of the trunk. You can see it in the photo below-

Right%20Side_zpsg6oq0cf0.jpg

This goes a long way to make it look like the tail end of the TG is not drooping..because the TP is more level.

Fact is that the actual frame, trunk and exhaust are still just as low on the 14-16's as previous years.

2. A lot of dealers are putting Comfort Lifts or Standards Lifts on their Tri-Glides & Freewheelers before they even hit the floor for sale. It is very possible that yours may already have a Lift Kit on it, installed by the dealer.

Kevin: Would the dealer have to disclose that they had put on an aftermarket lift kit? Or any other add on for that matter?

On a new uint yes.... So they can charge you..$$$
On a used unit, They might not even know it has a lift.

If you are wondering if your Trike has a lift kit installed, just look at the nut on the end of the arm. If it is welded in place, it has been replaced with after market. Not OEM,

You would think they would, if nothing else so that they could bump the price like rhino 2 said.

But I don't know if they required to, and even if they were, I've seen/heard too many things from dealers that don't make a lot of sense. :)
