It is nuts...... So many people, I am surprised at how many are leaving. Per the local news it took the sheriff an hour to drive across the main street to go to a camp. The accidents are the highest, very unfortunate.

:Agree:Not during the rally. I've been there 4 times, all 4 times when the rally wasn't taking place. There is a lot of great riding in the Black Hills, I just don't care to share it with hundreds of thousands of goofballs.

In a former life, my in-laws lived in Blackhawk, bout 10 miles east of Sturgis on I-90. Only made the visit slightly better.

to answer my own question

in 2013 on friday, at 10 am there were FIVE people drinking beer at the easyrider saloon.
This year, at 10am on friday, the balconys were all FULL of people drinking beer.

I lived there for four years from 90-94. Hadn't missed a rally in 25 years until this year. Prob didn't miss much except bike I prob won't see until they hit the magazine shelves in a couple months.

I went to Sturgis during Rally Week several times. It got crazier every year. Dangerous actually..Businesses rape you on rooms, parks are terribly crowded, finding a place to eat can be a challenge. I never stayed within 35 miles of the place. Lots of beer makes for some stupid decisions by some folks. Been there...done that.....time to do other things.

Crowded

4th trip most I ever seen. Met chief of police at (lol the pig races) on Sunday 8/02/15.
Most he seen in 22 yrs.
hear of 6 accidents. mostly speed or not paying attention and ahcol.
Did not get to meet with the TT group in Spearfish, had to leave early, blew out front fork seals.
Will most likely be my last trip, best rally, riding but this county has so much more to see so on ward for me orag:

Consitter, To see the bare boobies ya have to go to the campgrounds any more cuz so many civilians are bringin their kids to town and started grippin to the cops about said bare boobies.

My first rally like that will be in Laconia NH in 2017. Only 'cause I'll be living there in the summers. I live 3.5 hours from Daytona and have no desire to go there. Don't like big crowds.
