Riding with miss Daisy

Took an older family friend for a supper run yesterday after she had seen our Triglide over at our house. She hadn't been on a bike in 40-45 years and busted her butt on that one. Always was afraid of them after that.Kind of a moped thing.

Got her dressed right and showed her the pipes etc. and what to expect and we took off slowly. She said after a few blocks it wasn't,t too bad got around more traffic and she got a bit nervous but still OK then the highway. She was nervous but hung in there. I took it as easy as possible given traffic. Finally got to a scenic road along the river and she was so into the scenery and the view, wind and all she was like a 2 year old really enjoying the whole experience. She said now I see why you guys like this it,s wonderful.

Her son rides but doesn't feel comfortable 2 up and her Daughter rides but isn,t real experienced so she is leery of riding with them on a two wheeler but she!s definitely into the Trikes now.

Felt good to see someone as overjoyed with riding as this when we all take it for granted sometimes.

It was a heck of an experience for her. And she got supper and a chance to ride two ferry boats on the return trip.Just had to share.

Great story, Thanks!
Reminds me of a day when I was in my fourties and with a friend at his parents home and my friends Mom asked me to give her a ride on my ElectraGlide sport. So That's what I did. We rode through the hills and valleys of southwest NH and enjoyed the cool of the early evening. I can still remember how tight she held on and she was so excited when we saw some whitetail deer not far from the edge of the road. We made it back just in time to eat the grilled hotdogs and hamburgers that my friend and his Dad prepared while me and Mom rode. I later found out that she had just enjoyed her first ever ride on a motorcycle. My friend was a little jealous that he had never been able to get his Mom on a bike.
Thanks again, you gave me the nudge I needed to remember another of the many great memories that I have had in the wind.
