Question about reverse on GL 1800

I recently purchased a Motor Trike conversion for my 2010 Gl 1800. I have a parking brake option.

Whats the worst thing that can happen if the reverse is damaged? I am thinking that I may forget that the parking brake is set, and when I try to back, I might damage something.

Its seems that someone told me that the newer wings had some feature that would help prevent damage to the reverse gear. Is this true?

Can the trike still be ridden if reverse no longer functions?

One more stupid question, can a wing be started by pushing it?

I am fairly new to this forum and enjoy the knowledge that you guys are willing to share with us rookies.
Thanks

Kinda guessing here but, I would not think you would seriously damage anything, if you let off the button real quick.
The reverse on the 1800 is the starter motor and I'm thinking it would just stall out.

Make sure your in neutral and you push the reverse button, and press the starter ,otherwise you won't work the reverse. As for the parking brake I find if you park the bike in gear you won't go anywhere, and you won't be riding with the brake on. Happy triking.

You can start the Wing by pushing it. Personal experience. If I'm on a good incline I put the parking brake on and may chock it. One day while getting off the bike I accidentally took the bike out of first with my foot. Won't happen again but still, I just don't want to worry about it.

It will roll on a good incline in gear, and it will also roll in Reverse on a good incline. The Reverse is the Starter motor like mentioned before, and if it burns out you wont be able to start the trike. I think there is a breaker in the curcut to prevent that though.

Reverse does have an overload relay, and yes if the Trike has many miles on it, "In Gear Engine Compression" will not hold the Trike in place on steep inclines.....wrap a rag or anything tight around the front brake lever for an emergency brake along with leavin' it in Low Gear.....ThumbUp
