Clutch cable

Did the 2+2's require any cable extensions, longer cables, etc? That's my next project, and I'm just trying to figure everything out cost wise.

Thanks, and nice trikes![/QUOTE ]
Needed a 3" longer clutch cable I have the number if you need it. remember old shiney is 09 vintage not hyd. clutch all other brake lines wiring I had lots of extra to get the length. The only tools I needed to get were Ball End Allen wrenches for radio removal. you really should have a shop manual to do this, unless you have experience at such activities. Remember Harley's come apart in layers starting from exhaust because you are changing clutch cable, 2+2 wide sweepers have worked out great for me. Bar fit is individual to each doing it yourself should be under $250. easily. Having it done expect $400 up. need any thing let me know fearless

Thanks Fearless. I checked with my local dealership and they said to plan on about 6 hours labor; 6x$90=$540. At that price they said I might as well plan on doing any other work that is fairing related, like the LRS Recurve and the hidden antenna that I was thinking about.

I may just get the service manual, but I don't know how crazy I am about getting into the fairing.

It's not hard work just take your time hardest part was Clutch cable for me. with the manual it is easy. Biggest things it gives all torque values Utube videos really help. fearless
LRS is two minutes it takes longer to get the tools and put away than it does to change windshield.

No. That was the amazing part. When I went in to talk to the harley people, they quoted me around 450.00 in parts alone. Then said labor would be 6-8 hours so you were looking at a price between 1,200 to possibly 1,50000.

I went to a local dealer, explained my situation. They had a tech that use to be a harley tech. I thought for sure they would have to use wire extension, but they did not. So everything fit. So I payed for labor (3.5hrs), bar, and new grips. around 415.00.

I was very happy and surprised!:Dorag:

That's more like what I was hoping to hear! :)

Get the service manual. It will come in handy down the road. Also get the trike supplement.
My 2010 has 7 screws holding the fairing on, including the three for the windshield. Your 2015 should be similar. Then unplug the headlight and the fairing is off. The hidden antenna attaches with sticky tape and an electrical wire that if I remember correctly, goes to the cigarette lighter socket. Take a towel and cover your front fender just in case you drop something.

Here are the 2+2s I put on my 2010 a couple of weeks ago. Longest ride so far was 250 miles and no problems. I'm also 5'8". Since they come further back, they give you more steering leverage. Fearless calls them "power steering".

if they are the 2+2 wide sweepers from Chrome works, then that is what I am going for (hopefully) and all you need extra is the (extended wires?)

2+2 bars

TBEAR, the bars on my RED trike are the narrow Khrome Werks 2+2 sweeper handlebars (#300519). They are about 1" wider than the stock bars. The wide sweeper bars (#300517) are about 4" wider than stock, On Fearless' black bike.
I see that you also have a 2010. We both had to put on extended clutch cables to make it reach. Not needed on the 2014 and up trike, I believe.
The picture shows the narrow 2+2's along with the stock bars. You can see the width and height, but the sweepback doesn't show up from this angle.
Hope this helps.KIMG0068.jpg

Longer Cutch cable!

You will need a 3" longer clutch cable all wires and brake hoses are long enough. What is nuts to change clutch cable the mufflers, header pipe, foot board all have to come off not hard but it takes time. :Shrug:ride safely fearless
