I'm sure there will be some that think I'm crazy, BUT I would like to know where some posts go to hide for a day or two?!?!:xszpv:
Here is the deal-
There are times that I am on this board many times a day for 2 to 3 days in a row, including into the early AM cause I can't sleep and THAN out of no where is this post, with comments, that is a day or 2 old!!! I'm sure that some will say that I just overlooked them, but I'm telling 'everyone' that there is NO WAY that I overlooked these posts and these are not the type of posts that a Mod. may moved or did something to!!!! Some are in the General or Harley area and I check those, multiple times, every time I'm here and I refresh the site quite often.
Does anyone else think or know the same happens to them???
Is this something my computer may be doing or my internet provider or something with the website programing???
This is the only site it seems to happen on or that I notice it on!:gah:

It sometimes seems as though that happens when there is a lot of activity on the site. Any more recent post pushes a previous post "lower down" and often even a fairly recent thread may move onto Page/Screen 2 or 3 in a very short time. If someone responds to it, that thread then jumps up to the top of Page 1. If you haven't tried it yet, click on NEW POSTS in the narrow black strip at the top of the page. This will open a list of all posts you haven't read yet. Look carefully, as there may be several pages in that list.

To clear the list completely, click on QUICK LINKS in that same strip, and select MARK FORUMS READ. Once you have cleared the list, just start with NEW POSTS every time you check in. The unread posts/threads will show as bold. When you've read all you want, clear the list again. I have found this the best way to be sure I don't miss any posts I want to see before they slip into the archives and are harder for me to find.

Nana, Thanks for the reply and I have read your info at least twice, but it just doesn't fit what I'm seeing. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with how busy the site is. Let me create a story to help explain what I'm seeing.

Lets say that its a rainy 2 day period and I'm not going out because I don't feel good & the rain. I have been getting on 3 or 4 different sites, including TT, rotating thru the sites at least once an hour and I might check a news site from time to time. I'm doing this because, besides the weather, my back & other body parts are dealing me a fit, my pain meds don't help much, I can't sleep and I'm trying to keep my mind busy on the computer. Every time I go to the next message board I hit the Refresh Button and every time I make a post or comment I will back all the way to the main page & refresh again to make sure everything posted OK. This is going on hour after hour with a little TV watching in between, but when on TT I always checked for new posts or comments in the different forums. Than on the 2nd or 3rd day when I would get back on TT, I would Refresh and look for new posts and out of the blue I see this thread that was started & replied to during the days & times I was on the site many, many times. There is just NO WAY I would have missed it so many times and besides looking at each forum for new stuff I also would check the Latest Posts Box at the bottom of the main page. It just seems that from time to time a post is lost out in the webs no mans land! :gah:

Hmmmmmmm.... well, I'm at a loss! And I don't think I can duplicate that complicated scenario.... just sayin'.....

92, I thought I had problems with a moved post. Your problem could be that your Computer is Possessed and in need of an Exorsist. Doubt that it is a problem with Trike Talk.

I don't know if it will help, but next time I see it happen I'll document the thread that appears & the time line.

I'm far from a computer person, but I was wondering if there might something wrong in a program on my computer & it won't let this site load completely from time to time??

OR, it might be what Wilhelm suggested! :xszpv:

The main reasons a post or thread will get moved:
a) its posted in the wrong forum section (often)
b) violates forum posting rules (occasionally)
b) headed in a direction we don't like (occasionally)
c) its a spam post (occasionally)
d) its an older post that has received no feedback (not often)
e) its an older thread that is no longer relevant like "Happy 4th of July 2010, 2011, etc" (occasionally)
f) its my post and I changed my mind (more often than I'd like to admit, but its an owner/admin benefit)

NO post or thread is ever permanently deleted. Depending on the reason for moving it, its moved either to a more appropriate forum section, moved to the "Post Graveyard" or moved to to the "Staff Moderation Forum" for review. This section is viewable only by staff. Its where all moved posts are reviewed and discussed by the staff for resolution. Some questionable posts may be restored, some may not. We do not want to over-moderate but we don't want this forum to go the way many others have either. We know we will not please everyone all of the time, but we do the best we can to maintain the peace and provide a positive environment for everyone.

I just assumed with the amount of foodies on this site that someone was just eating the posts that vanish.

Just to help clear up my problem a little, I'm not talking about posts or threads disappearing. My problem is about threads that APPEAR a day or 2 after the original post & comments.
I'm beginning to think it is problem with my computer. :xszpv:

I'm wondering if your computer history is just pulling up previously posted page without refreshing. Do you click on the New Post button on top of page? I won't update on my computer or cell phone until I press that. Might need to log off/on again too.
