New to the Forum

Hi Everybody! I have joined this forum because I would like to build a trike for my wife who cannot ride a motorcycle for health reasons but would like to have the freedom of riding with her face in the wind like the rest of us. This past week we rode to Sturgis and she was the only passenger as all the other wives have their own bikes and love to ride. I think that finalized it for her? So now I need to decide which would be the best kit conversion for our needs. Thanks for having a great site!:D

Test as many as you can.
Whats available within a distance acceptable to you has a bearing on choice.
Reputation of the installer is as important as the brand you pick.
IRS is smoother than SA.
DIY true trike conversions are limited to 3 brands, as far as I know.
There are good conversions and there are cheap conversions. There are no good cheap conversions!!!!!!!

being north of the border the laws on trikes have to be addressed as to what you can and can not do, check out a company called tri-wing, they could help.

Howdy Ed!! Welcome to TT from your fellow Texas members!!! I bet your wife felt just a little left out of things. Having her very own trike would be a HUGE ego boost. I don't know a thing about converting your HD but I be you get plenty of help here!! :)

There is a gob of experience here and our members are always willing to share. We hope you also pass on your stories and knowledge. Trike Talk is by far the best trike focused bulletin board and you’ll find the members and admin folks the friendliest there are.

When you get settled in, check out Trike Owners International, T.O.I., you may find it a good fit.

Again, WELCOME !!! :xszpv::xszpv:

Get a small one for her they are cool. No problem with a large trike. I taught my friend a 120lb 70 year young woman to drive a 1800 2002 Goldwing. She actually rode it to our 2nd NE TT RALLY 140 miles 3 weeks after she got her endorsement . What do u ride?

Wow! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome ! I personally ride a 2008 Harley Street Glide that is customized. Someday I will be on a trike I am sure :) But as long as I am riding with my face in the wind I am happy. My son and I have wanted to build one for awhile for my wife but she was not sure she wanted one. After Sturgis this year , she said " I decided I want a trike. Bright orange with black stripes. " LOL so I am guessing she's in. Again thanks for the great welcome. Very friendly place indeed!

You didn't say what she had for a host bike or are you looking for one?

Scroll down the forum and check in on the thread ( trike shopper?)

Glad she is ready to go trike! I like the color she wants, of course I might be a little parshal to that color.
Welcome from the great state of Texas, and both of you ride safe! We will expect pictures when you get it done!
