Hello I am a new member and wish to introduce myself. I own a small plastics manufacturing in KY and recently purchased an 05 Goldwing CSC conversion. Just went to the Smokies for a weekend with a small local group and had a great time. While on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. road workers were laying down a new bed of chips and oil. Picked up some gravel in the CV boot, which was new, and ate the boot off the CV bearing.

Started looking around for a cv boot that covered the whole bearing and behold someone has this happen before. Internet led me to Mountain Trikes in NC that has made some cv conversions. I called them and he said the CV boot was from a 92-93 Volkswagen, so I will stop by AutoZone on the way home and try to find one. Hope to have many more miles from the Trike, been riding over 55 years, do most of my own work on the bikes and look forward to tips on this web site. Have a great day!

Bob, Welcome to Trike Talk Forum from West Virginia.:wave4:

In the old days ....... the CV joints were covered with a leather boot.

Some of the old VW's had them and I wonder if they would last longer ?

They would certainly be stronger than the rubber ones today.
