I have had this trike for about 4 weeks, and it has been several years since I had stock bars on a Tri Glide. And I have forgotten how bad the stock bars are, today I installed Khrome Werks 2plus2 Wide Sweepers and what a difference they make. I swear the person who designs stock bars must be 4ft 8 with 5 ft long arms. Now if the weather breaks, I am ready to put some miles on the bike.

guess we will just have to go to Hell.. lololol

Handlebars are a personal thing and a lot of people change bars for looks, that's ok. I like the bars that came on my Tri-Glide. Rake kits steer easier because there is less weight on the front tire, I don't have a problem with the effort it takes to steer. I barely notice it but I am sure that it will handle better with the stock rake, that's the reason Harley built it that way. Think about it, you have 2 tires pushing 1 tire in turns and they are bigger tires that are supporting more weight. Each to there own and I can understand folks wanting the rake kit! Most of us with trikes are older guys and don't really lay into turns hard anyway so a rake is a good deal for them. Shocks are a compromise, firm ride or cushy ride, hard to get both LOL. I may replace those shocks at some point. And another really big deal to me is the money, the Tri-Glide sure as hell wasn't cheap to start with, I'll save my extra cash for fuel and motel rooms LOL! Now everyone can tell me that I'm wrong, O-Well.

The stock bars made my shoulders ache after about an hour, when my hands are closer to my shoulder height it doesn't hurt as much. Steering pressure is about the same and you are correct everyone has a different idea of comfort. I never thought ape hangers would be comfortable, until I installed 14 inch bars on my Road King. But I can ride for hours, and my shoulders, neck and arms never hurt.
