mounting big flag kit for Freewheeler?

Hey folks. I am new on here and tried searching to see if this has been asked but couldn't find anything specific to the FW so here goes: I ride with the PGR and want to be able to mount one big, or two, big telescoping flag poles on the back of my trike. I have the bumper across the back end. I was told the only way to mount any type of "big flag kit" is to add a trailer hitch and then I would have to buy the kit that fits into the hitch receiver.

BUT if I do that, it will void my HD warranty. Is this true? Does anyone know any other way to possibly mount big flags onto a FW? Perhaps a way to mount them on the passenger foot boards? Perhaps another PGR member with a FW has done this? If so, please throw your idears my way, I am all ears folks. Thanks so much!

Article in Milwaukee paper awhile ago about HD not warranting a clutch on tri glide because had a big flag

Thanks mucho for that bit of info! Wish they didn't make it so difficult for those of us who want to display our patriotism. It's ok, I can still ride with the PGR. Will figure out a way to fly a big flag on there!

Removing the passenger foot rest brackets and having units welded up that mount to those mounting threaded holes on each side would be pretty cool.

Bob :D

Parade speed with those big flags is one thing, highway/interstate speeds is something else:AGGHH:
Unbelievable the force that is put on a bike/trike w/those big flags waving at say 60 to 70mph:xzqxz:

RIVCO makes mounts.

No way would I fly a full size flag from my Trike. The small one work just fine and does not add any stress to the Trike.

Go to http://www.patriotguard.org and ask the experts. I've seen big flags flying on everything from baggers to ricers, Harleys, Triumphs, Hondas, you name it. Many different ways of mounting.. like I said, go there and learn from the experts. Only advice I personally have to give is to use a metal pole, not wood!! :)

Oh but I would never take my trike on the highway with big flags a blazin'. I am talking just in a regular funeral procession speed or a parade. If I were running with a big flag or flags and there was any chance they would go highway, I would roll my flag(s) til we got off. NO way! I hear you on that concern brother! :D

These mounts will be available in March from Patriot Mounts. I spoke with the guy on FB. The Max speed has not been decided as yet but mentions it will be more than 55 mph..... I am not sure what the motor or tranny will feel about that.... they look like great mounts.
