Need some help here with this @$#%$# left fork on my 06 Wing. The seal was leaking so I took it in and had both seals (left & right) replaced. Didn’t take too long to notice that the left one was still leaking, though not as bad. Went back in and we re-pulled the left fork. The tube is fine, no pitting or other damage. Figured it was just a bad seal, so put another one in with new oil. Rode 120 miles and checked and there is the start of a new grunge line on the tube, so guess it is STILL LEAKING!!
I’ve been doing a LOT of reading and been told that we needed to also change out both bushings on the tubes when we changed the seals. However the service manual says to only replace these bushing “if there is excessive scoring or scratching, or if the teflon is worn so that the copper surface appears on more than 3/4 of the entire surface”.
What are we missing?????
I’ve also been told that since I now have a trike with a raked front, I need to go to a heavier, 30 weight, weight fork oil. How many of you guys have done this and what were the results?
I really hate the :machinegun:anti-dive system and want to go with the Traxxion AK-20 kit, but just can’t part with the $1500 bucks right now. Have any of you gotten the Traxxion spring upgrade only, and how did that work out? Does it allow you to disable the anti-dive, without problems, and are there any regrets for not going with the AK-20, instead?
