Who do you have for insurance coverage for your trike and trailer? Does it give you enough coverage as far as values are concerned? How much does it cost you per year? Not trying to pry into a 'none of your business' area here just trying to get good coverage for my trike - trailer - car - truck - and maybe even home.

I have lived in various places and one company will have better rates in one state and another in another. I don't know what Washington C.H. means but in Texas, I use Progressive. When you have a conversion, the bike's value is key and then you add for the conversion and accessories. In other words, say $15K for the bike and $15 for accessories; you must take an accounting of how much it would cost to replace what you have. I was in a minor fender bender with my trike a couple years ago (not the current one) and Progressive was fantastic in making restitution and chasing the other guy's insurance to pay the deductible as he was at fault.

If you don't mind doing business with AARP, Foremost, their carrier has competitive rates and you can stay with them and retain the rates if you drop AARP. When I lived in Maryland a few years ago, State Farm had the best rates as long as you didn't have a crotch rocket type bike.

Another thing to consider is uninsured/underinsured coverage... Texas has an epidemic of uninsured driving around.... they get insurance coverage by the day and drop it the day after their vehicle is registered. If you get clobbered, there are many situations where you will be out on a limb if you don't have underinsured/uninsured. If you find an agent that writes for many insurance companies, they can probably give you the best advice as again, it is state specific.

wiregeorge hit it on the head. There are so many variables including where you live (State and Location) it hard to compare. Even things like it's keep in a garage or not make a difference. Try the big companies they are the most knowledgeable and therefor most competitive. Right now State Farm is getting it done for me in Key Largo Fl.

In MN American Family just assumes it will only be used about 6 months per year. That has an impact on what I pay.

In Utah and I use Allstate for everything. I really like their service and the way we were treated when I had my 2 accidents in 2011. I have the vanishing deductible also and mine is about to vanish so I would have to factor that cost into any change. There are many things to consider in insurance and monthly premium is only one factor. The best thing to do is to discuss your needs with an independent agent.
