First ride with other riders

I went for my first ride in 2400 miles with 2 other riders yesterday on 2 wheels, a guy and gal. I rode in the back. I kept my distance and they wondered why I told them it was my first time with others. I'm glad I was watching because the gal (also kinda new) turned her turn signal on at the last minute and made a fast stop and I had to stop really fast (in town) then she decided to keep going straight. We were on our way to a bike dealer and I knew it was down the road further so I let my guard down for a second. Good thing I was quick to stop. Other than that it was a nice ride.

I did ride over by myself today and filmed the ride through the state park. It's not the best but my first real video with the Go Pro. There's glare from the windshield, next time I'll use a head mount strap. And it doesn't show the hills and curves well and I think that is because it's on the handlebars and no one is in front of me (I've been checking out other videos) but it's good for the first time. I cut the video down in length. I'll get better.

Sounds like you did good. Remember trikes can stop faster than the 2 wheel versions. I stay with the 3 second rule when riding with others. ⛟ i keep 5 seconds behind or more.
Congrats on your first ride in a group. Well done.

Hey Jolie, :wave4: VERY NICE!!! I enjoyed that video so much I had to watch it twice!!
Beautiful ride and the music was perfect for the pace you were riding. I'd like to find some roads around here like that, NO traffic, lots of shade, some twisties,.....PREFECT!!!!!!

Keep on Trikin' ThumbUp

You did Great for the first video Jolie!!! My first ones were so bad then never saw the light of day.. :D If you could lay your hands on the GoPro suction mount and try it attached to the front center (down low) on your windshield you might like that. You will loose the scanning side to side capability but the straight forward is like the camera is floating in air. You're doing good. Keep it up! :xszpv: :xszpv:

BTW -- GREAT RIDE!!! I'm so jealous....

Haven't rode around the back side of Ramsey Lake State Park in several years. What were the water crossings like? Used to race around the lake with riding buddies back in the day. Was fun. Seeing the video it doesn't look like it has changed much as I recognized several points throughout the ride.

Nice video for the first try!! Great sound bite also, really had me into it. Which GoPro do you have? I'm still thinking about getting one but of course I want the latest and greatest..LOL
I changed my windshield to an F4 and love it. Great optics night or day and a lot less glare.
Keep up the good work.
I'm trying to set up a gathering of former Air Force friends who live around Scott AFB. Hope to ride out there next summer sometime. If so, maybe get to meet/ride together..:Trike1:

Nice video and a good tune, you did a great job on it. Missus says it looks like a place we need to ride. Also unfortunately your incident is why we dont group ride anymore. Seen too many and had a few close calls ourselves so we ride alone. But good catch and youre the wiser for it. Thanks for sharing your ride with us.

Thanks everyone. I'll be checking the link to the video. It's a nice little ride around the lake, peaceful, pretty and lots of curves and hills to practice my turns, gears etc with no traffic around. It's about 14 min around going 20mph or a little less. Would love to find more state parks like that to visit.

Fuzzy unforunately I can't move the camera closer to the windshield, its mounted to the handlebars and since mine is a small trike I don't have the "dash" like the bigger trikes for different mounting options. I might look for the suction cup mount ( I do have a fear of it falling off and the camera breaking though lol but maybe it's stronger than I think). I do have a head strap mount I haven't used yet. Will be fun to try that out.

I bought the Hero 3 in white. Wasn't too bad on price at Best Buy ($199) I had some gift certificates so that helped. It's not the newest out but it does what I need it to.

You did a great job Jolie! You had me looking to the sides of the road for deer just like if I was doing the ride. Like the music and you did a great job editing it and blending it.
