Did it to her again.

The weather here has been horrible for riding for a month now. Extremely hot and no rain. Yesterday was only supposed to be in the low 90s and the usual 15% chance of rain that fizzles out every day. I suggested taking a ride to Hot Springs, AR to eat at a grill we like, about a 250 mile round trip. The wife agreed. We had a nice ride up and a good lunch. Saw a gun show going on and went to walk around there a while. While in there, we ran into a friend who said his wife had been stuck on the highway we came in on for about 30 minutes because a storm had blown trees onto the road. Pulled out the trusty phone and looked and the radar showed purple, red, and yellow all the way home. Especially on the route I had intended to take home.

We went outside and it was raining.

The wife laughed and said I had done it again. She was getting wet on a trip with me on the trike.

I planned a route that would eventually take us around and between the heavy rain and wind. Her Frogg Toggs did just fine and she didn't get wet. I think she enjoyed the wet ride home mostly because all I had was my rain jacket. I had melted the pants leg on my exhaust the last time, tossed them, and forgot to get new ones.

I think I have only had her on one trip that I didn't get her into some rain. Thankfully, she still wants to ride.

Must be something about a trike i have been riding for 45 years and i have been caught in the rain more times on my trike in the 3 months i have owned than any of my two wheelers.

Happened to me yesterday

Annual State Inspection cloudy when leaving house, two miles away stopped and put on rain jacket. Short run on I-80 big drops scattered around. Jumped off I-80 north someone opened the bottom of the clouds could hardly see for a few minutes the good Lord washed old shiney real quickly. Surprised how well the Trike handled in such a downpour, careful to stay away from ponding on highway good experience for me. ThumbUp ride safely fearless

Skies very cloudy. Forecast not great. Took trike to Mets game today anyways (they won, for once). For ride home, the wife insisted on wearing her very large rain jacket. I just left on jeans and Ramones T.
Guess who got wet on ride home?

Glad to see I'm not alone. I thought I was the only one who could drum up a rainstorm out of nowhere.
I have been happy with how the trike handles wet roads. Slower speeds of course, but I've never slid or hydroplaned any. The only uneasy feeling was when it rained so hard I couldn't see and had nowhere to stop. That was about a year ago and my first rainy ride.

Not to much rain in this part of the world. Lots of triple digit heat. Rainy season is about a month late, will probably have a 2 inch rain and then we will be above average for the year. We have had the same rain suits since 2007 and have worn them less than 10 times. I am surprised they have not fallen apart from the heat. Jim

But it's a "dry" heat!

I'll take getting wet over the triple digits. We've had some of those days already this summer. When it gets that hot I just look at the trike sitting in the garage. 100 degrees at 60 mph is still 100 degrees.

And that is exactly what happened to ours - leaked like a sieve but didn't fall apart!

They had been in the bottom of the saddle bags for years, never had to open the packages, then switched them to the trike trunks for a trip to the Ruidoso Rally - sure enough - RAIN! - got them out - oh NO!! LOL. We replaced them with Frog Togs - have yet to use those either but they are riding faithfully in the depths of the trunks!
