Coyote meets Trike....

I was on my way to meet some other guys to go on a trip to Canada.

About 100 miles into the trip, with cruise set at 65mph, on the interstate, BAM.!!

Out of nowhere, he hit me at full bore head down, on the left side, right in the leg (calf). Hurt like a beech!!

This happened Thursday afternoon. Leg feels OK now.

I'm worried about the coyote......not! If you had been on a 2-wheeler, what do you think would have been the outcome?

The Trike?...... Busted-up the rear back fender is all. New one is 30 days out. Fixed with duct tape for now.

I also own a Heritage and without a doubt I would have went down, and also maybe hit by the cars behind me.

The impact did cause the trike to swerve a little in the lane, but I,ve swerved more trying to miss pot holes.

Very lucky, or blessed! Thank-you Trike vs 2 wheeler in this case.

Not that a trike will prevent all disasters, but in this case, the trike was a saving-grace. Yes, you were lucky and blessed. Chalk up another one to duck tape.

Sounds like luck was on your side, hitting that sucker at 65 could have broke your leg. I believe I've passed you while going the opposite direction on Lake Rd a couple times this spring.

Glad you are ok as duct tape seems to work well on trikes but no so much on humans unless they are small children and you are trying to keep them out of your bed room...

After the Mickydees stop to check everything out, I started to return home. I had to go back through the same spot except East bound. The traffic was stopped up ahead. Two cars stopped to let moma and her baby ducks cross!!!:AGGHH: I bet that was what the coyote was after.:Shrug:

As far as duct tape goes, another of 1000 uses.ThumbUp.Dealer thought I did a nice neat job of tapeing it up.

Funny story. I was riding through Sparks, NV a couple years ago. Saw a trail of dust flying way off the road. Remember thinking it was a Road Runner doing 50 mph. Moments later I heard clacking sounds (something running over stones) along side of road and saw a coyote run across road just behind me. He didn't get me or Road Runner. In spite of possibly wearing a Acme rocket pack!

I'm certainly glad it has worked out OK for you. All you need to do know is stay out of their way.
